We are traveling to St. Thomas in March and looking for a beautiful, quiet and convenient location to stay in. Any recommendations on which part of the island is nicer? We were looking at Crown Mountain vs. South or North East side, but appreciate any other suggestions.

Never found STT to be rowdy, but if you want convenient, the east end is the best with easy access to Red Hook and the ferry to STJ.
We also liked Mahogany Run for the quiet and beautiful views.
Crown Mountain is FAR from basically everything…East End is convenient to a lot of different locations, Frenchman’s is also very centrally located. Areas on the east end include Elysian, Sapphire, Secret Harbor…
I HIGHLY recommend not renting a scooter here. Rent a car. There are huge cliffs and some shoddy drivers, and all it takes is one second to get yourself killed. Driving on the opposite side of the road with sheer cliffs in a car is bad enough, driving an underpowered scooter on shabby roads with some impatient drivers around you is a horrible idea.
