Canggu The Best Area To Stay In Bali For Surfers
Canggu is a fishing town located 6 miles from Kuta. Its environment is calmer than Kuta and Seminyak and more oriented towards cultural activities and rest. Along its beaches, there are two centuries-old temples: Pura Batu Bolong and Pura Batu Mejan. As for its establishments, the Lawn bar stands out, especially for its cocktails, as well as the Ji restaurant Bali, where both Oriental and Western dishes are served.
Canggu, best place to stay in Bali and surf
In addition, it is, without doubt, one of the best areas to sleep in Bali if you want to surf or you have to rent a scooter in Bali. Here are my accommodation recommendations:
Jimbaran And Some Of The Best Bali Hotels
Jimbaran is a fishing village in the south of Kuta. This very popular area to stay in Bali is also famous for its spectacular white sand beaches. In this town, you can visit the Garuda Wisnu Kencana a park designed in honor of the Hindu god Vishnu that has impressive statues of up to 400 feet. Visiting this park is one of the most fascinating things to do in Bali.

Canggu The Coolest Area To Stay In Bali
Canggu is one of the places on the island that locals, surfers, and expats favored for a long time. Things have changed now and there are numerous tourists who travel in and around the area.
This area has grown in popularity in the last years and now is the new hotspot. It has become the destination of choice of digital nomads, expats, influencers, surfers, and tourists looking for the coolest place in Bali.
Here you will find cool cafes, trendy restaurants, hip shops, beach clubs such as La Brisa, Finns, Cafe del Mar or The Lawn, and a growing nightlife scene.
In this part of Bali, you will notice how it is more laidback compared to Kuta and even Seminyak. It has rice fields and beaches, along with numerous restaurants.
The problem with Canggu is that there are limited transportation options here. Therefore, you will need to find your way around the area, although mopeds are preferred. You need to have a proper license to operate mopeds though, which is why many visitors choose bicycles instead.
If you look forward to walking around and experiencing the top restaurants and stores here, the best place to stay is near Jl. Batu Bolong. It intersects with Jl. Batu Mejan and will lead you toward the beach.
Another area is Jl. Pantai Berawa, which has cafes and shops as well but they are more evenly distributed.

Nusa Dua And Tanjung Benoa
Home to many 5-star hotels and a few 5-star villas, Nusa Dua features gorgeous white sand beaches. You can feast at the many Sunday brunch options of restaurants most of which are housed within resorts. When youre looking for a great night out away from your hotel, the Devdan Show is highly recommended. The streets of Nusa Dua are immaculate, there are a few shops to be enjoyed and a lovely beach pathway to take a walk or a bike ride along.
If you are into resort-style holidaying and going 5-star in a sprawling resort with all of the trimmings, Nusa Dua and Benoa are the best cities in Bali to visit!
East Bali The Best Area To Stay In Bali For Water Sports Lovers
Head along the east of Bali and youll find yourself on the long, coastal strip scattered with small fishing villages, a few bigger towns and not much else. Not for those looking for a livelier scene but the perfect antidote to the busy southwest of the island.
Amed is one of East Balis best-known destinations thanks to the numerous watersports on offer around its emerald waters. While Amed is fairly developed, the town is still relatively traditional, which makes for a nice contrast.
You should also take the time to visit the small town of Candidasa a small town located in eastern Bali. There are many ancient temples, tucked away villages, and sloping landscapes in Candidasa, as well as the rocky Candidasa beach.

Best Place To Stay In Bali For Couples: Ubud
Ubud is said to be the cultural capital of Bali. In some respects, I do agree with it. There are so many art museums and private galleries that can keep you busy for a week.
The great thing about Ubud is that the local population is still designing and producing most of the artworks you can find in the shops. There is almost a total absence of Made in China manufactures
The most famous attraction around is probably the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary where you can visit both the beautiful local temple as well as the monkey forest.
Do not wear anything shiny on your head or outside the bag, like sunglasses, it will be most probably confiscated by the local monkeys when jumping from one tree to the next.
I was said by a local guide that monkeys are supervised as they should not suffer from any interaction with humans.
I, however, experienced with my eyes tourists providing food to them, which should not be done.
Try to respect the environment around you. I know it can be fun, but the monkeys are losing their own habit to hunt the food.
Other interesting temples in the area are the Tirta Empul and the Gunung Kawi Sebatu. You will need a car or a taxi ride to visit both of them. You may be able to organise a day trip including the Tegallalang Rice Terrace as well.
Ubud is a great place to stay in Bali for couples looking for a more romantic getaway with some cultural experience too.
Kuta Best Area For A Bit Of Everything
Only 5-10 years ago, Kuta was the must-go area in Bali with huge luxury resorts, shopping malls, amenities and an expansive white sand beach. These days, it is less visited by the younger crowds, and has become a hotspot for families and older groups.
Still buzzing with restaurants, live music, and bars and clubs along Legian Street, Kuta may not be as popular as previous years, but it is still a great place to stay in Bali for an unforgettable holiday where everything is close by.

Where To Stay In Bali For Singles The Hipster Canggu
I feel like Canggu is the best place to stay in Bali for singles if you are after a cool setup, with lots of nice cafes, easy restaurants, a nice surfing beach and a great inland made of rice fields, just a stone away.
Canggu is the new kid on the block. I cant say it is a hidden gem of the island because it has been well discovered by the tourism, especially the young generation, but still it preserves that relaxed and cool atmosphere you want to expect from Bali.
It has everything but not taken to the extreme. With some cool nightlife, but relaxed and not that loud.
Its one hour north of the airport and a nice spot to spend one week or even more.
It has also become one of the favorite areas of the bloggers and the nomadic tribe. The biggest reason is the wide availability of quick internet in bars and cafes.
Of course, yoga is offered widely. If you dont do it here where should you?
Pay a visit to the Little Flinders Cafe . Nice and cute interior with good Australian style latte, creamy and at the right temperature. Good breakfast on offer and happy hour before 10 am.
The Canteen Cafe is another good place for breakfast and more. It has a good selection of western as well as local food. A good value option, also considering the price.
