We are thinking of taking a last minute vacation to CS. Meaning leave tomorrow and stay 4 or 5 days. I looked on Priceline for hotels and am wondering is Central, North or South the best place to stay? Any section safer/nicer? I am thinking we will take a day trip to Cripple Creek, also go to Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, a half day rafting trip and just general sight seeing. Most of Colorado Springs is safe and if you bid on at least a 3 star hotel, will be in the main visitor areas. North is closer to Airforce academy and central will be closer to downtown and Manitou Springs. Really not that hard to get around town. Check for ideas on what people are getting.
I would visit Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, take the cog railway up Pikes Peak. Rafting out of Buena Vista probably your best bet… look for class II or III …check
Consider staying a night in the mountains…Buena Vista or Salida both quite pretty and plenty to see and do.

Colorado Springs is a small city that has experienced rapid growth. However, multiple neighborhoods still have that small-town feel. In Denver, there are stores and malls every few miles. It takes years to learn about all of the areas and what they have to offer.
Colorado Springs only takes a couple of months to learn about all of the different areas within it. However, it’s not a city yearning to build, grow, and dominate.
