Airbnb The Best Platform To Search For Apartments

Airbnb is one of my favorite alternatives to hotels when I travel and it will help you to find the best apartments in Madrid. Airbnb acts as an intermediary between people looking for a place to stay and the owners of the property .

In order to properly choose your apartment, apart from the price I recommend you to pay attention to the location, the pictures, the amenities, and the house rules. Besides, I usually check the Airbnb Plus verified places and the Airbnbs top-rated and most experienced hosts .

  • Once you have selected a few possible apartments, read the reviews of the previous guests. I find that reviews are usually quite accurate and representative of the actual condition of the spot.

If you have a question about the apartment, you can contact the owner directly through Airbnbs website before the booking. Most of hosts answer within 24 hours.

For obvious security reasons, make the payment through the Airbnb platform and refuse to pay in cash if any host offers you this option, no matter if they offer a discount.

Finally, read the cancellation policy of the accommodation. There are six different cancellation policies available, from flexible to super strict.

Enter now Airbnb to find the best place to stay in Madrid.

You can book your vacation rentals with Airbnb, and when using it for the first time you can get an Airbnb discount coupon of $37 that in some places could mean free accommodation for a night or two!

Where To Stay In Madrid For Sightseeing

Best Places to Stay in Madrid, Spain in 2020 (Plus a ...

On the Gran Via between Retiro Park and the Royal Palace, The Principal Madrid is a stylish hotel with modern decor and a rooftop terrace, and serves guests a sumptuous, free afternoon tea. It’s within walking distance of Puerta del Sol, Retiro Park, and the art museums.

Locations don’t get much more central to attractions than that of the highly rated Catalonia Las Cortes, halfway between the Prado and Plaza Mayor. Although you can walk everywhere from here, rooms are quiet at night. Throughout the late afternoon and evening, the hotel offers guests free tapas, sandwiches, and tea cakes.

The boutique Vincci The Mint is a stylish modern hotel on Gran Via, close to Paseo del Prado and its museums, as well as to a number of restaurants. Its rooftop terrace has views of the city, and little details such as the pillow menu and the excellent a la carte breakfast make it a favorite.

Things To Notice When Looking For The Best Accommodation In Madrid

Elevator: Many guesthouses and hostels in Madrid are housed in residential buildings that dont have elevators. If having an elevator is important to you, be sure to include that in your search filters.

Breakfast: Many accommodations do offer breakfast, but I personally dont think its necessary. There are so many amazing cafes in Madrid to have breakfast or brunch, and to me, thats a big part of getting to know a city.

Location vs noise: Madrid is a city that never sleeps, and a lot of central streets can get quite noisy at night, so consider that when booking your accommodation. If thats a deal-breaker to you, read the reviews to see if there are any complaints about noise.

Air conditioning/heating: Depending on when youre visiting, be sure to look for accommodation with air conditioning and heating.

Parking: Theres no reason to rent a car while youre staying in Madrid. The center is big, but there are Metro stations everywhere, and with a walkable itinerary and comfortable sneakers youll be good to go.

Good to know: The word hostal usually refers to a guesthouse and not the backpackers hostel that might come to mind.

Good to know #2: Almost all the neighborhoods I mention in this post are a part of Madrids city center. Each one is relatively small, so all of them have a great central location.

Tip: If you have an early flight to catch, you can also find hotels and hostels near Madrids airport.

Bonus : Best Hotels Near Madrid Barajas International Airport

Madrid Barajas International Airport is the main airport of the city and the place where youll most probably land if youre arriving to this city by plane. The airport is located only 16 km away from the city center, but it will take you more than 35 minutes via public transportation to get there.

If you have a very early or very late flight, a wise idea would be to book a hotel located as close to the airport as possible. This way you can save some precious time and sleep and you wont have to stress a lot about your transfer to the city! If you decided to do so, here are the best airport hotels in Madrid to choose from :
