Typical starting/peak prices: $270/$515
Best for: Couples, travelers with pets
On-site amenities: Outdoor pools, lazy river, spa, private beach, multiple restaurants and bars, event space, water sports, free Wi-Fi
Pros: There are 16 “spa rooms” that have access to a private elevator, which leads directly to the spa.

Wood-shingled and wind-swept, The Henderson looks like it should be perched on a moor. Instead, it overlooks a mile of one of the more underdeveloped beaches in Destin, affording guests the most privacy possible in town.
Take advantage of all the usual beach activities , practice getting your zen on in the adult pool cabanas, or float on the lazy river.
The 178 coastal-inspired rooms and suites are designed in shades of sand and sea blue, with four-poster beds and patterned carpets for a romantic manor house vibe. This lovely property, with a spa that includes a Himalayan Salt Suite, is ideal for taking a breather from the tumult of the past year.

Get Some Quality Beach Time
Although Destin boasts many diverse attractions, it is best known for its beautiful beaches. And it is the perfect place if you want a laid-back, quiet beach vacation. Some of my best memories from Destin are just strolling a secluded beach or watching the sun set over the water.
Spending time on the beach is one of the best things to do in Destin!
There are several great public beaches in Destin , but if you stay at a waterfront property, you will have a beach right out the back that you can enjoy even early in the day or late in the evening. Many properties offer complimentary beach umbrellas and loungers.
Walking on the beach in the late evening
Destins silver sand beaches are composed of Appalachian quartz. The Apalachicola River has been carrying the quartz crystals from the mountains to the Gulf of Mexico over thousands of years. Over time, the crystals are ground really fine by the action of weather and water, creating the gorgeous sugar-white soft powdery sand on Destins beaches.
Not only is the white sand beautiful to view, its also cool to the feet, so you dont have to hop in pain if its warm out and you are barefoot!
