Attractions Near Atlantis The Palm
- Spend an evening at Club Vista Mare While we don’t think it’s possible to get bored of the dining options at Atlantis, The Palm, if you do fancy venturing out for the evening stop by this waterfront beach club. You’ll enjoy spectacular views of the ocean and Dubai’s skyline while you wine and dine on cuisine from around the world. We’re big fans of the Ethiopian menu at Gursha where you can order a set menu and sample a range of authentic dishes. If you’re a meat-lover, try the kitfo which is raw minced beef marinated in a hot chilli powder.
- Sail across Dubai Creek Travel around half an hour to reach Dubai Creek where you can jump on an abra and enjoy a ride across the water. It’s a great activity to break up your stay and to see the city from a different perspective. These boats travel on two different routes, with one running 24 hours a day, and cost just AED1 to enjoy. You could spend the morning shopping in the Spice Souk before jumping on an abra to go and explore Dubai Museum in the afternoon. It’s a convenient way of getting across the water, allowing you to see more of Dubai’s rich culture up close.
- Spend a day at IMG Worlds of Adventure The world’s largest indoor theme park is the ideal place to take the kids to burn off some energy and escape the heat. With epic rides, animatronic dinosaurs and the opportunity to meet some of their favourite characters from the world of Marvel and Cartoon Network, it’s the place for families during a visit to Dubai.

The Service Isnt Great
The staff at Atlantis werent friendly. Im sorry, but they just werent. From the dining staff to employees in the pool area. We always felt like we were annoying to anyone we asked questions to.
When talking to a local taxi driver, he pretty much confirmed this for us. The laws for working in The Bahamas are very strict and you cannot get a visa if you are a foreigner. And the hotels pay locals a really low rate to work and have a huge turnover. So it might be that they just really don enjoy their jobs, and its pretty obvious.
Even the service at restaurants is horrible. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours at each dinner. Not because it takes that long to get a table. It takes that long to get your food.
Beware if you are traveling with young kids. Bring some snacks and maybe a tablet to keep them occupied. If we walked out of the restaurant in under 3 hours on any given night, it was considered a miracle.

You Can Find Reasonably Priced Food Like Chicken Wraps In
You CAN find reasonably priced food, like chicken wraps in the park. You CANNOT find reasonably priced drinks in the park. Bring your own thermal water bottle and fill it w ice at the hotel. Hey have water refilling stations. The water is excellent. Hit the beach while the cruise ships are there. Go play in the park starting around 3pm. The slides are pretty empty around then!
Aquaventure Waterpark And Aquarium At Atlantis Resort Paradise Island Bahamas

The Atlantis Aquaventure water park and aquarium together comprise the world’s largest open-air marine habitat. The two are intertwined, with just adds to the funyou can ride a water slide through a shark tank, for instance, and the Ruins Lagoon, teeming with fish, is built in and around the Royal Towers. Vantage points include a glass tunnel through the Predator Lagoon, a 100-foot suspension bridge, and underground grottos. You’ll see more than 250 species of sea life and more than 50,000 creatures of all shapes and sizes. Waterfalls are everywhere.
The Aquaventure water park sprawls over 140 acres and includes water slides, pools, a snorkeling lagoon, and a lazy river. Towering above it all is a reproduction of an ancient Mayan Temple, home to the Leap of Faith water slide , the twisting Serpent Slide, the Challengers racing slides, and the mysterious Jungle Slide. The 120-foot Power Tower has four more high-octane water slides, including the near-vertical Abyss and a trio of inner-tube slides. The Current lazy river is nearly a mile long and includes a series of manmade rapids as well as waterfalls and waves. There’s also a Mayan-themed kids’ water-play area called Splashers.
More low-key is The Dig, a charming and well-conceived exploration of the imagined ruins of a submerged lost city of Atlantis.

Prime Spot Along Cabbage Beach
It isnt called Paradise Island for nothing and guests will understand the name change from Hog Island back in 1961 when they get their first glimpse of the turquoise water and practically perfect white sand beach. “The Vegas by the Sea” can be accessed from the airport by shuttle or taxi service, and it takes about a half hour depending on the time of day . Some drivers will make sure that passengers pay the $1 cash-only fee to get across the bridge, so it helps to have a little cash on arrival.
Once checked-in, guests at the Beach Tower can use a free shuttle service between tower entrances, or opt to walk through the extensive grounds. The Beach Tower, though further away from the Atlantis’ main attractions, does enjoy close proximity to the Lazy River Ride, River Pool, Atlantis Theatre, Gamers Reef Game Room, and Seagrapes restaurant.
Guests can order food from www.foodstore2go.com before arrival, or go to the grocery store by Paradise Shopping Village, about a block from Coral Towers.
The Bottom Line About The Atlantis Bahamas
The kids absolutely loved the Atlantis especially the water park actually mostly because of the water park. Now that our group is made up of teens and tweens, I think they also would have been a bit more discerning about some of the other aspects of the resort. But in general, whenever the cousins have time to play and relax together they are happy.
The eight adults of the group all felt that the Atlantis Bahamas was overpriced for what you got, too big, and too commercial for our tastes. My in-laws have since returned to the Bahamas and they fell in love with the service and atmosphere at the Rosewood Baha Mar.
What about you? Have you been to the Atlantis? Did you love it, hate it, or in between?

Should You Stay At The Atlantis Resort In The Bahamas
The Atlantis is an iconic resort and had always been on my bucket list. At the end of the day, Im glad we had a chance to check it out. But I think it would have been fine to stay for just a day or two.
After the first day, the kids had gone on every waterslide and tested each pool and they were really bored. We ended up booking an excursion to Blue Lagoon Island on our third day, just to have something else to do.
Or consider getting a day pass to check out the Atlantis waterpark, take a few iconic photos and be on your way. Trust me, youre not missing anything if you dont actually stay at the property.
And lesson learned read the reviews online and always trust them. And hopefully, youll listen to this review of Atlantis!

Atlantis Bahamas Review: The Good
I have done my best in this review to lay out the good and the bad about the resort, at least from our collective perspective. Of course, these are our opinions and others may feel differently, so please take a look and make a choice for yourself. The comments below may also prove helpful in making your decision.

Atlantis Is Confusing And Not Well Laid Out
Oh, and the layout of the waterpark is really confusing. Like, horribly confusing. Their printed maps dont make any sense. They show you where each thing is located, but not what path to take to get there. We got lost and turned around several times.
And again, the staff wasnt much help. Each time I asked how to get somewhere, they would just point and walk away, or not respond at all.
It started to become a game where when we actually found the correct waterslide we were looking for, we would jump up and down and high-five each other.
And dont forget the dumb wristbands. In order to go on any waterslide, you need to get a wristband from a certain hut. And you need your resort card to get those. So it became like a 3-step process to get the wristbands to even go on the rides in the first place.
And each day is a new wristband. So each day, you have to find the hut to get a wristband before you can go on any rides .
Atlantis also has a private area you can pay a little extra for that comes with things like a storage locker and reserved chairs. We really considered this for a minute, but then I saw the private area and it was basically the same as every other area and just had small storage boxes in between each chair.
Save yourself the hundred dollars this cost and just get yourself a beach chair lockbox. We used this and it worked perfectly.
High Prices Guarantee Free Access To The Water Park And Marine Exhibits

The Atlantis would not be what it is without the extensive marine habitat and Aquaventure, a 141-acre, 200-million gallon water park that combines a series of slides , a lazy river, and the Current, a mile-long water ride with waves and tidal changes. These two major amenities are free for guests, as is admission to the casino and nightclubs, but that’s pretty much where the freebies end.
Guests arriving to the Atlantis will receive cards which not only allow access to the rooms, but can also act as payment for amenities, restaurants, and bars around the resort – hence a hefty hold on the credit card during the stay. Some Atlantis spots do accept cash for payment, but many are considered “cashless.” For key card purchases, a receipt will print out guests have to print and sign their name, and write down the room number. Guests who are using a regular credit card may have to show ID.
A regular and free shuttle service between towers is offered, but these simply pick-up and drop off at each entrance. Walking to key points in the Aquaventure and to various pools can take more time , but there are clean bathrooms around the resort. If children and parents get separated, there is a lost and found area.
On-site amenities at the Beach Tower include a build-a-bear station, pottery studio, and game center. Other tower amenities include a high-end spa, a fitness center, and non-motorized water sports . There’s also a daily fee for Wi-Fi, which includes unlimited devices.

Is It Worth It To Stay At The Atlantis Bahamas
Ive been wanting to visit The Bahamas mostly due to the famous swimming pigs. And Ive known about Atlantis for a really long time. To me, it always seemed like something that was out of my financial reach. Until this last spring, when I decided if Im going to be in The Bahamas, I NEED to stay at the Atlantis. Right?!?!
Wrong! The Atlantis turned out to be one of the worst resorts Ive stayed at in a really long time. Even the kids didnt like it.
And when I write reviews, I always give honest ones and this review of Atlantis is no different.
What we all DID love was the Baha Mar but more about that later.
PS You can book your tour with the Swimming Pigs HERE! It was by far the best thing we did in the Bahamas!
