Courtyard By Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance
On-site amenities: Water park and pool complex, restaurant, market, fitness center
Pros: Rooms have outdoor terraces, many of which offer views of theme park fireworks.
Cons: This hotel is typically as expensive as a Disney hotel. Parking is valet only, and also pricey.
The Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is, as the name implies, only a five-minute walk to the parks.
A massive water park is on-site with six slides and is a draw in its own right, and family-centric rooms with bunk beds have helped make it a top choice for families. However, all those amenities don’t come cheap, and it’s only slightly less expensive than Disney’s official offerings. It’s a good option for those who prefer to show Marriott loyalty or to consider when Disney prices start to skyrocket.

More On How We Select Our Hotels
My experience: I’m a California resident who has been visiting and writing about Disneyland for years. I know all of the hotels on this list personally.
COVID-19: We only selected hotels that prioritize the health and safety of their guests with new cleaning policies.
Perks: These hotels are either in close proximity to the Disney parks or offer perks to get there. They have great pools, spas, or other on-site amenities that will entertain on the days you don’t go to the theme parks
Guests: Our best hotels near Disneyland appeal to families of course, but also couples, business travelers, and more.
Ratings: We consulted reviews and ratings on traveler sites such as Trip Advisor, Hotels.com, Booking.com.
Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel
As the name implies, Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel is all about celebrating Californias mellow beach boardwalk culture. Expect to find all sorts of cool California references throughout this themed hotel. This family-friendly stay is a mere 10-minute walk to the Downtown Disney shopping center and 15 minutes to the resorts entrance.
Rooms feature beach-themed decor, modern furniture, and Disney-themed artwork. If youre traveling with the little ones, the spacious upgraded rooms are well worth the extra cost. If you opt to stay here, youll enjoy extra perks like early park entry and being greeted by Disney characters at breakfast!
Both kids and adults will love the rooftop pool and its thrilling California Streamin waterslide. Theres also a childrens pool and a Paradise Spa whirlpool where adults can unwind. If you want to go big, rent a poolside cabana suite where you can lounge around with family and friends.
The rooftop restaurant serves up California-inspired dishes from meat or plant-based burgers to artisanal pizzas and al pastor pork tacos. They also have an impressive list of cocktails for those who want to imbibe. On certain nights, you can even catch Disneys fireworks show from the rooftop deck!

Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort
Points Program: Marriott Category 5 30,00040,000 points
The Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort is the hotel my family has stayed in most frequently on our Disneyland vacations. Its on Harbor Boulevard and is less than a 10-minute walk from the pedestrian entrance to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure park. Rooms have been recently renovated, and a number of them have themed decor. Many can comfortably sleep up to five people.
Unlike most Fairfield Inns, this location does not offer free breakfast, but the McDonalds next door has been my go-to spot for a cheap and quick bite before my family hits the parks.
Since it is a 35,000-point redemption at the standard rate, its also a hotel where holders of the or the can often redeem their annual anniversary complimentary night .

So far, my personal favorite hotel on property at Disneyland Resort is Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel. Its the most affordable out of the three Disneyland Resort hotels.
They have an awesome lobby where kids can sit in little Adirondack chairs and watch Disney cartoons while parents check in and out.

When visiting Disneyland with toddlers, I look for hotels that will go the extra mile for my family. The customer service at Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel is fantastic!
My toddler ended up getting a raging fever in the middle of the night and a cast member opened up the gift shop at 3am so we could get a thermometer and medicine.
I will forever be grateful that we were able to immediately attend to our sick child thanks to their quick service! You can read more about my review here.

Over the years, the hotel has gone through many renovations, but it still holds true to its old school charm while providing patrons with modern accommodations and fantastic amenities.
The rooms are comfortable, contain a mini-refrigerator, and have subtle Disney touches.

The three Disney-owned resort hotels at Disneyland in Anaheim, California the Disneyland Hotel, Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneys Grand Californian Hotel are awesome. After all, they are steps away from Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park and Downtown Disney. And they will immerse you in the Disney experience. Disneyland resort hotels have great restaurants and killer pools and amenities. You can even start the day with a character breakfast.

The Grand Californian Resort
This luxury Disney hotel is by far the most expensive of the three Disneyland property hotels. Its also the fanciest! With spa services, cabanas to rent poolside, and an entrance directly into Disneys California Adventure. As a Disney resort guest, you get early access to the parks which is a MAJOR perk!
Hyatt House At Anaheim Resort
Points program: World of Hyatt Category 4 15,000 points
This hotel is about a 15-minute walk to the Disneyland gates . What makes it a smart choice for families is its standard Hyatt House layout: mini-suites with a full kitchen and a free breakfast to start your morning before hitting the parks. Some rooms feature bunk beds, which as a parent, Ive discovered to be key in reducing sibling battles.
While I havent personally stayed there yet, Ive heard nothing but high praise from a number of Disneyland travel experts Ive talked to who have. During normal times, the hotel rarely drops below $150 per night , making it a fair Hyatt redemption.
The only other nearby Hyatt property, the Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center, is a bit cheaper as a Category 3 with slightly lower cash prices as well. But its location is inferior, which means the Hyatt House is still probably a better overall value for most travelers. If you had Hyatt Category 1 4 award certificates from the World of Hyatt Credit Card, you could use those at either of these Hyatt properties.

Residence Inn By Marriott At Anaheim Resort/convention Center
The Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort, like every Marriott Residence Inn hotel, offers spacious rooms ideal for larger families or people who like to stretch out. Only a few hotels near Disneyland offer full-size kitchens, including the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort.
This is a terrific convenience if you want to save money by cooking meals in your hotel room or if you need a place to put your drinks and late-night nibbles.
Choose between one of the hotels brilliantly designed rooms with bunk beds and a separate extra bathroom or one of the hotels exciting and colorful kids suites if you are traveling with family.
The Residence Inn provides a complimentary breakfast, which is another beautiful budget-friendly option for families.
Best Disneyland Hotel Across The Street With Free Breakfast
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn and Mini Suites
The Best Western located right across the street from Disneyland is a perfect place for any family visiting the Disneyland Resort that doesn’t want to splurge on either the Disneyland Hotel or Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. I actually recommend this hotel over the Disney-owned Paradise Pier.
The Best Western provides rooms with queen beds that sleep up to five and mini suites that sleep up to six. This hotel also has a great Disneyland hotel FREE BREAKFAST! The food is continental and a great way to start off your Disneyland day. In the room there are refrigerators, coffee makers, free Wi-Fi, and microwaves. These are amenities that you won’t find at most of the other Disneyland Good Neighbor hotels.
The hotel is the closest of any of the off-property Good Neighbor hotels. In some cases it is even closer than the Disneyland on-property hotels. We have literally tested the distance from the Disneyland hotel’s farthest rooms and the Park Place Inn’s farthest rooms and the rooms at Park Place are much closer. All you have to do is walk across the street in the morning, and you are there. This is the Best Western near Disneyland.

Best Fireworks Viewing: Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel
Disneys Paradise Pier Hotel
The newest of the official Disney hotels is a little bit further from the parks but still draws Disney lovers with its guest perks and affordable rates.
Rooftop pool with water slide
Character dining on-site
Fireworks viewing from the pool deck and some rooms
Not much Disney theming in rooms
Furthest Disney hotel from the parks
Paradise Pier is the most affordable of Disneylands three hotels, but can still run several hundreds of dollars a night for a room, especially during peak times. When youre watching the fireworks from your hotel room, though, it will all be worth it. Paradise Pier is especially good for kids because sleepy little ones can get some rest while the rest of the family still feels like theyre part of the park action: nighttime World of Color shows and rides in California Adventure park are visible from many rooms. Downstairs, the PCH Grill offers character dining, and the Sand Bar by the pool offers quick bites.
- Access to on-site laundry room

Disneyland Hotel Vs Disneys Grand Californian: The Bottom Line
As someone who has happily stayed in both the Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel many times, I think most guests will be very happy with both hotels. True luxury travelers used to a certainly level of hotel service and amenities as well as fine dining are probably going to be most comfortable at Disneys Grand Californian. Guests on shorter stays may also appreciate its location advantage.
Disney super-fans, however, are probably going to prefer the Disneyland Hotel with its extra themed touches and Disney history and magic. In addition, its less expensive price makes it accessible to that many more families. Those factors are what tip my personal scale in favor of the Disneyland Hotel on most trips, but my preferences have definitely evolved over the last several years. I imagine they will continue to do so as prices change and hotels get various upgrades and renovations.
