Neubau Coolest Place To Stay In Vienna
Neubau is the coolest place to stay in Vienna. There, visitors will not find the picture perfect imperialism of the Innere Stadt but are more likely to encounter trendy art galleries, design clothing, and unique coffee shops and restaurants. You may also take the opportunity to stay in Neubau to buy some unique vintage clothing and renew your wardrobe!
Neubau is located right next to the Museum Quarter and has the privilege to have some museums of its own. The MUMOK, for instance, is really worth a visit. It is the museum of modern art of the city and displays some of the finest contemporary art in Austria.
Finally, lets not forget that Neubau is still a great place to go for a night out. There are many bars around, and in the summer you can just go enjoy some beers and a good chat in the Museum Quarter where giant lounge chairs are laid out to relax in.

Corona Virus Rules In Vienna Hotels
Since 29th May 2020, Austrian hotels and bed-and-breakfasts are allowed to re-open for guests while respecting a few hygiene rules: As such, hotel staff has to wear face masks when dealing with guests, unless adequately separated through acrylic glass screens or other suitable protection. Since 1st September 2020 guests do not need to wear mouth and nose protection.
Endorsing the Safe Travels health and hygiene protocol introduced by the World Travel & Tourism Council, Vienna has encouraged all tourism and leisure facilities to adopt the international standards to combat Covid-19. While the Safe Travels protocol is based on self-assessment and not a certification Vienna has launched its own certificate Safe Stay. To obtain a certificate, hotels and B& Bs need to fulfill a list of stringent safety measures for guests and hotel staff. This includes social distancing, regular disinfection, a designated Covid-19 officer, and contactless services.

Donaustadt A Shopping District In Vienna
We move east yet again to our next destination, Viennas 22nd unicipal district, Donaustadt. With a western border shared between Simmering, Leopoldstadt and the Danube, Donaustadt is the largest and easternmost district in Vienna. In fact, Donaustadt covers roughly ¼ of Viennas total area.
Being located on the opposite side of not one but two rivers from most of the city, there is a slightly more rural feel to the area, as you may expect. Numerous parks, lakes and flower gardens are scattered throughout the district, perfect for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors on their trip.
The area isnt all about the outdoors though, as there are some incredibly popular attractions here. For example, this is the location of the Vienna International Centre, a sprawling complex constructed in the 70s.
Also known as UNO City, it is home to Viennas largest conference center and United Nations Office, among other things. This makes it one of the most important and recognizable buildings in the city.
It is also home to a number of museums, such as the Donaustadt District Museum, the Austrian Horticulture Museum, the Aspern-Essling Museum and the Lobau museum. These offer visitors a wide range of choices when it comes to exploring the history of the area.
Stay in Donaustadt if you want to be detached from the main bulk of the city, you prefer more rural, outdoor locations, you want to go shopping, you want to see Viennas United Nations building, you are a fan of museums.

Where To Stay In Vienna For First
Vienna is an incredible city, full of culture, restaurants and cafes where you can relax and admire one of the most gorgeous places in Europe. If your budget allows it, we recommend staying in the Innere Stadt during your first visit. You will be a stone-throw away from most attractions and you will have access to the metro for any trips you may want to take. While the Innere Stadt was designed with tourists in mind, that comes at a cost. Most hotels are lavishing and luxurious, parking spaces are limited and the prices are quite high. If you book in advance, you will find some reasonable discounts.
However, it’s worth noting that Vienna has excellent public transport which runs on time. Therefore, wherever you pick to stay in Vienna, you can always rely on the vast public transport network to take you to all the incredible attractions Vienna has to offer.

Safest Area To Stay In Vienna
Now that we covered the best places to stay in Vienna and areas, lets talk safety.
Overall, Vienna is relatively safe for travelers. Including solo and female travelers.
Though violent crimes and muggings are rare here, pick-pocketing and bag snatching are common in Vienna. Hence, the same as many European big cities.
As a result, just take the normal precautions against pickpockets and youll easily avoid getting robbed or scammed.
However, I cannot give a specific area that has no chances of pick-pocketing. Anywhere can be a perfect place for a thief to make his moves.
Therefore, I do recommend to be careful.
Furthermore, Ill leave you these basic tips to avoid being pick-pocketed:
Last but not least, the golden rule: Let nobody touch you!
They can only steal from you once they get near you or once they get in touch with you especially in very crowded places which they take advantage of.
Be attentive and have precautions and youll do just fine. There is no need to get paranoid. But follow my suggestions above and you will be fine.
Many many friends visited me here and stayed at all those places I recommended them. I obviously gave them my safety tips. And not a single one got robbed!
