Today, Miamis commercial heart is Americas third largest skyline all shimmering glass high rises, envelope pushing museums, cool bars and some of the citys best live music venues. But this skyline has one additional advantage over most its spectacular waterfront location offering gorgeous views over the shimmering Biscayne Bay and Port of Miami.

While roaming around the area, dont miss the Wynwood Walls. Located in the Wynwood Art District, the outdoor gallery showcases impressive street art. Its beautiful wall murals are painted by popular artists from around the globe.

Best/safest Area To Stay In Miami

Was thinking of booking Miami as a surprise 60th birthday for my husband next April. We’ve never been and would like some advise on the best and safest area to stay. We are obviously not clubbers but do like to go out and enjoy a nice meal in the evening and do some touristy stuff during the day.

If you mean Miami Beach vs. Miami then 17th and Collins area. Shelborne Hotel is a good basic start or Hampton Inn if on a budget. Plenty of dining choices on Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive …. just a short walk. Safe is a relative term as it only takes one crazy or stupid person to ruin your day. If walking be mindful of traffic lights & keep your wallet & phone unexposed. The Express 150 transit bus is a nice way to get to/from MIA airport.

We stayed on 17th street which has lincoln road at the end of it, great location near the beach, just a couple of blocks back, plenty in walking distance, bars restaurants Ect. We are 50 ish lol and stayed out til around 1am, the restaurants on lincoln road have outdoor seating and some have music playing, plenty of pwople watching too

Thats great info thank you.

Greetings NJ from Swansea!

Being on or near 17th Street give you access to a great access to a nice section of the beach and easy walking distance to Lincoln Road Mall that is a must walk early in your visit. Tons of fun shopping, outdoor seating restaurants, and of course, people watching.

South Beach The Best Area To Stay In Miami

Where to Stay in Miami & Miami Beach: Best Areas & Hotels ...

This partying town is favored by A-list celebrities, models, and students on spring break. Known locally as SoBe, it pulsates south of Miami Beach, sharing its border at 23rd Street.

You dont need a car to survey the area since many restaurants, hotels, and night clubs are short distances apart. If youd rather not walk them, consider bus service as an alternative.

Aside from its swinging nightlife, SoBe is famed for its pastel-hued art deco buildings. To learn about their fascinating origins, take a walking tour from the Art Deco Welcome Center.

The most popular beach area is Lummus Park, peppered with street vendors, bicyclists, buskers, runners, bodybuilders, and fans of water sports. Further inland, a broad pedestrian walkway runs parallel to the shore, changing to a boardwalk at 21st Street.

For fewer crowds, visit South Pointe Beach, distinguished by its lifeguard towers, painted in dazzling colors and amusing designs.

For boutique shopping and al fresco dining, head to pedestrian-friendly Lincoln Road Mall. Youll encounter cuisines of every kind! Come nightfall, the party scene awakens at dance clubs, hotels, restaurants, bars, and lounges.

Generally, lodging is pricey in South Beach. However, if you dont mind the no-frills, communal atmosphere of a hostel, you can stay in the area at low-cost.

Another option is booking a rental through Airbnb. Still, since the neighborhood is noisy, for the average traveler, sleeping is easier north of 23rd Street.

Room was extremely small with dirty carpet. Nothing similar that they promoting on the website.Room was next to a door where employees were coming in and out all day long, even at night time. Very noisy all our stay. Was lacking the working stuff, everywhere lines for coffee or beach towels. Everything so unprofessional. In all hotel only one restaurant with extremely slow stuff. For a salad was waiting almost 2h. Thats ridiculous! In the beach was lacking extra chairs/umbrellas. That to get a chair in the beach you have to be at 9am, otherwise you have to rent somewhere else. The pool was too small, good only for kids. What a nightmare experience. We would NEVER come back!!! So disappointed..
