Best Neighborhood For Eating & Drinking: Lower East Side
The Lower East Side is a prime shopping, eating, and drinking neighborhood. Its an incredibly diverse area there are gritty pubs and bars, late-night comedy clubs, tattoo parlors galore, and a number of art galleries too. The Tenement Museum, one of my favorite museums, is also located here.
Youll get the full NYC experience staying in the Lower East Side and its one of my favorite neighborhoods.

Staten Island Good Choice For Smart Travelers
Although it may not feel like it, New York City is a group of islands on the Hudson Bay and the New York Harbor. Staten Island is a ferry trip away from Lower Manhattan, and it is often chosen as a strategic place to stay in New York by smart travelers who wish to save on lodging.
The Staten Island Ferry is a free and scenic trip that sails past the Statue of Liberty, and it is a pleasure to ride once or twice a day during your stay in New York.
Staten Island is called The Unexpected Borough because there is plenty to do and explore therein. If you are looking for history, for example, in Staten Island you can visit Sandy Ground, the oldest African-American settlement in the United States.
There are two maritime museums in this borough, and there is also Fort Wadsworth, a historic military installation that sits at the foot of the bridge connecting Staten Island with Brooklyn.
If you choose Staten Island as your vacation base in New York, consider these recommendations:
Upscale:Hilton Garden Inn New York/Staten Island is very close to the Newark Liberty International Airport, and it is frequented by business travelers who travel to the Financial District daily on the Staten Island Ferry. This hotel feels like a country club from the Victorian era, and it is in fact close to a few country clubs and golf courses. Shuttle service to the airport and the ferry terminal are provided for free.

Best Airbnb In Dupont Circle: Victorian Boutique Room
Nestled on a beautiful tree-lined street in the majestic home in the Dupont Circle district. The party spot! And the coolest cafes like Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe, which you have to make sure you stop by before leaving. This home is located on the 2nd floor of Victorian Brownstone, the furnishings are anything but average, and the intricate interior will make you feel like royalty. One of the best things this home has is the bathroom pullout mirror. Youll see what we mean.
Neighborhood: Upper East Side
Having the top-hatted bellhops at this Beaux Arts brick building open the door to you in the same way they do for high-profile dignitaries is enough to give you a thrill. Find your way to one of its 188 rooms and suites, and you dont know which VIP or celebrity you might pass last time I was there, Daphne Guinness was getting a blow-dry in the salon.
The eye-popping cityscape views from the upper floors evoke sweeping opening scenes from the movies. George Gershwin spent time here in the 1930s, and today Woody Allen is known as a weekly regular, having played the clarinet with Café Carlyles resident jazz band. Although it recently underwent a refurb, Bemelmans Bar is as atmospheric as ever, with murals hand-painted by and named after Ludwig Bemelmans, author of the Madeline childrens books, who painted the bar in return for living here in the 1950s. Because of the link, the hotel is a good bet for well-heeled families, with Madeline-themed packages and good provisions for children. JK

Upper East Side Best Neighborhood To Stay For Museum Lovers
The Upper East Side is definitely one of Manhattans wealthiest areas. Located between 59th and 96th streets to the north and south and the East River and Central Park to the east and west, it is a quieter area stay in comparison to Chelsea or Midtown.
It is also where you will find the Museum Mile which houses a lot of museums like the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Jewish Museum, and the Goethe Institute just to name a few.
Hotels here are on the expensive side, but if you are into shopping you are close to Bloomingdales, Fifth Avenue and one of the best shopping streets, Madison Avenue.

Are You Staying Five Nights
If you have both certificates and points to burn, you may want to save your certificate and book five nights using points because then the fifth night would be free. If you need more points to get you to the necessary amount, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to your Marriott Bonvoy account. However, on paper Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth more than double a Marriott point so I would only suggest this if you need to top up.

Midtown: Best For First Timers In New York City
For all visitors to New York City wondering where to stay in NYC for your first time, Midtown is probably the answer!
If you stay in Midtown Manhattan, you will be a short walk from Central Park, the Empire State Building, MOMA, and Times Square. Nightlife is plentiful, and Broadway is a short walk away, as are the bars and restaurants of 9th Avenue, or the food trucks on 6th Avenue.

The Watson Hotel occupies the space that was formerly a Holiday Inn property close to some major tourist attractions like Central Park, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and multiple Broadway theaters.
While the room may not be luxurious and over the top, the emphasis is on comfort and cleanliness, which is especially important when the full family is involved.
You can also choose to stay at the double guest room if you dont want to be away from the kids.
Finally, the rooftop swimming pool is great for splashing about in the hotter months.
