Weekend In Charlottebest Area To Stay

I’m heading to Charlotte for a long weekend with some friends and want to find the best area of the city to stay. Preferably a safe walking distance to some good pubs and sports bars. Just somewhere that we can avoid having to take a taxi back from the bar. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Uptown would fit. There are plenty of bars/pubs/clubs. The EpiCenter has a movie theatre, bowling, restaurants, etc. There are also museums and the Blumingthal Performing Arts center. If you stay at either the Hampton Inn or the Hilton Garden Inn uptown, they provide a free roundtrip shuttle anywhere within a 3 mile radius of uptown. They are across the street from the NASCAR Hall of Fame and within easy walking distance of EpiCenter and plenty of other ‘destinations’.

Brewery Hop Through South End

South End has become the craft beer hub of Charlotte with seven breweries, one cider works, and one distillery. Visitors can spend an entire weekend just drinking their way through the neighborhood. Most are within walking distance of each other, but some will require an Uber ride. I canât possibly think of a better way to spend the weekend⦠Must visits are Wooden Robot Brewery and Triple C Brewing.

If you donât have time to visit all of the breweries, many of South Endâs restaurants offer neighborhood craft forward beer menus like The Liberty, Macâs Speedshop, and Craft Tasting Room.
