Best Neighborhood To Stay In Seville Spain

El Arenal Best Area In Seville For History

Where to stay in Seville: Best Areas to Stay in Seville, Spain

El Arenal is another excellent choice to stay in Seville, centrally located and full of interesting attractions and things to do!

One of the most well-known landmarks in this area is the Torre del Oro, along with the most famous bullring in Spain in the center of the district and the Hospital de Caridad and more. On the small, authentic streets of El Arenal youll find tons of great restaurants, excellent tapas bars, flamenco places and cute cafes.

I highly recommend this area for anyone that wants to find out more about Sevilles rich history, as this used to be the citys port area. Even if you dont stay here, its worth a visit! But I wont recommend it to budget travelers, mainly because the area tends to be a bit expensive so its more fit to upscale travelers.

That being said, lets see which are the best accommodation options in El Arenal:

La Alameda De Hrcules

The neighborhood of La Alameda marches to the beat of its own drum. Alternative and bohemian, this once no-go area is today one of the citys hippest hangouts. Centered around the large plaza of the same name, it borders the district of La Macarena and the Guadalquivir River. Once one of the oldest public gardens in Europe, its decorated with two Roman columns topped with a statue of the mythological God Hercules. Today, this long thin square is known for its vibrant nightlife particularly popular with Sevilles student and LGBTQI communities and is surrounded by bars, live music clubs and international restaurants. Its even said to be the place where Andalusian rock music was invented.

Where Is The Best Area To Stay In Seville

Hello, we are going to Seville for Semana Santa and we are currently looking for an apartment or a hotel.

Where is the best location in the city to stay? Any hotel/apartment recommendations.

Many thanks

The Santa Cruz area is very nice part of town. Its the old part of town with winding alleys that lead into nice squares with nice places to eat. Look at the T.A. advice and it will help you on nice areas and hotels to stay in. Have fun

On his same web site there are also ideas about accommodation. But frankly there is a wide choice and best to look outwards from the Cathedral according to your budget and quality of accommodation sought.

Using the Google hotel search map on Trip Advisor does really help.

We liked the El Arenal area very much. Local feel and not too many tourist., but close to the Cathedral, the river, etc.

I suggest you book soon.

Stopping next week again in a hotel near the bull ring. This gives you easy access to all the central areas and it is an easy walk across the river to the triana area etc. As already stated you need to book urgently as hotels will be full for the Semana Santa

We stayed for two nights in Best Western in Seville, great location and excellent hotel – no pool- and very reasonable. It is up side streets but two minutes from center. We were very lucky when we stayed, we met a very nice gentleman staying in the hotel and he showed us onto the main area. Enjoy your stay, Seville is really lovely.

Best Hotels In Seville: Santa Cruz

I have four favorite hotels in the Santa Cruz neighborhood. These hotels are very popular, have high rankings on sites like Trip Advisor and Google reviews, and in general, are some of the best places to stay in Seville, Spain.

Hotel Casa Del Poeta â I stayed here on my first visit to Seville and it left an impression. What stood out the most was the service and attention to detail. I had mentioned I was on a gluten-free diet and the staff went out of their way to provide gluten free options at the breakfast each morning . The beds are ultra-comfortable, the rainfall showers are the perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing, and the staff are brilliant at helping you plan your day and getting reservations or tickets.

Hotel Casa 1800 â this hotel has one of the most spectacular rooftop pool views. If having a pool with a view is on your list, this is your hotel.

Hotel Amaedeus â this quirky music themed hotel is a little easier on the budget than the hotels listed above. It might not be as luxurious, but the rooms are comfortable with a homey touch and the location canât be beat. There is also a charming rooftop with sweeping views of the city.

Quartiere Alameda De Hrcules / San Vicente

Alameda de Hércules is the young and festive area of Seville. For a long time it did not enjoy a good reputation, today it is the epicenter of nightlife of Seville. This area is home to several tapas bars and is the place to go for a drink both day and night.

Between the Guadalquivir river and the Alameda de Hércules, San Vicente is an old bourgeois neighborhood, where you can visit numerous churches and convents, but also delightful squares. It is a famous area for eating good tapas and discovering the gastronomy of Seville.

These two areas benefit from relatively low accommodation prices. The main offer is made up of apartments for rent, while there are fewer hotels.

This is not the most popular area with tourists, but it is certainly a nice area to sleep in in Seville.

To do and visit in the area:

  • Stroll along the Guadalquivir River
  • Discover the numerous churches and convents, especially the Church of San Lorenzo and the Basilica of the Great Power, or the convents of Santa Clara and Santa Rosalia
  • Visit the monastery of San Clemente, the oldest in the city
  • Discover small squares such as the Plaza de San Lorenzo

Triana Where To Stay In Seville For Foodies

BEST things to do in Seville, Spain [Sevilleâs TOP attractions 2022]

Across the river from Santa Cruz, is the Seville neighborhood of Triana. This is the best neighborhood to stay in Seville for those seeking a more authentic, less touristic, experience in Seville. Triana was once a separate village from Seville, and later became the Gypsy quarter of Seville, with deep ties to flamenco dancing and bullfighting.

One highlight of the neighborhood is the Triana market, or Mercado de Triana, a traditional Spanish market with fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood stalls, as well as restaurants. Whether you stay in Triana, or just visit, youll also enjoy views of Seville from the bridges leading across the Guadalquivir River. Dont miss the riverside cafes in Triana, too. Its not hard to find a lovely place for dinner and drinks with a view.

Barrio Santa Cruz Great For Sightseeing

Barrio Santa Cruz was once the Jewish quarter, and is now dominated by the cathedral, Catedral de Santa María de la Sede, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the worlds third-largest church.

It replaced a mosque in the fifteenth century, but has retained part of its Moorish tower, La Giralda climb its sloping path for stunning views and the beautiful Orange Tree Patio.

As well as works by Goya, Murillo and others, the interior contains the tombs of explorer Christopher Columbus and King Ferdinand III, who ousted Sevilles Moorish rulers .

The most important site in the city faces the cathedral. The UNESCO-listed Royal Palace, the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, is an impressive mix of Moorish and Christian architecture known as Mudéjar.

Originally a Moorish castle built on the site of a Roman fortress, and rebuilt in the fourteenth century, it incorporates the Arab tradition of creating cool surroundings to combat the heat of the sun.

The complex is a paradise of water features, shady spots and exotic gardens, with buildings that include Casa de Contratación, where the Spanish monarchs received Columbus, and from where Spains trade with the New World was conducted.

If you need a rest from all this, head for the exotic Plaza de España, where some scenes for the Star Wars film Attack of the Clones were shot. Or explore the citys largest park, Parque María Luisa, where you can hire a rickshaw.
