Best Place To Stay In Italy To See Everything

Where To Park In Venice

Rome Travel Guide 2021 – Best Places to Visit in Rome Italy in 2021

Venice is a car-free city, so if you visit by car you will need to park in one of the parking locations outside the city. There are a number of these available, at varying price points and distances from the city.

When we have travelled by car, weve often used the Parclick service to find and book car parking spaces in advance. This service lists parking locations in a number of countries in Europe, and we appreciate that it lets us find a space in advance and pay, so we know we are both guaranteed a spot, and we dont have to worry about how much it will cost.

You can see the various car parking options near Venice on Parclick here.

Spanish Steps Via Veneto Area

This is the most fancy area in Rome, which disputes the title with the Parioli district and wins because it is located in the historical center. Spanish Steps and the nearby Piazza del Popolo were the home of many famous people who used to live in Rome.

Audrey Hepburn came here for a walk. Poets and writers like Goethe, Stendhal and Gogolsipped a cup of coffee at the historical Caffè Greco. It still has some of their autographs. Via Veneto and the historical Harrys bar keep attracting famous people and tourists from the whole world.

Plan a few hours in the nearby Villa Borghese one of the biggest Roman parks great for cycling, for a picnic or for a stroll. If you travel with children they will enjoy a visit to the zoo located inside the Villa.

Babington tearoom and Ladurée macarons shop are a must after your shopping in the classiest part of the city via dei Condotti. Dont forget to throw a coin to the Trevi fountain to ensure you will return to Rome in the future.

Be sure you book in advance for an unforgettable dinner at Zuma in the Fendi Palace the trendiest Japanese restaurant of the moment in Rome.

Stay here if you dont mind expenses, if you like to be in the historical center, surrounded by chic restaurants and first class shops. Choose this area if you travel with children or if you cant walk for miles. The hotels in this area are luxury ones, as well as the apartments.

Attend A Local Festival

Everybody has heard of Venice’s famed carnival, but that’s only one of the hundreds of festivals that Italians celebrate each year. In towns and villages from the Alps to the toe of the boot, you’ll find local festivals celebrating centuries-old historic events, the changing seasons, holidays, patron saints, local products, and harvests-from asparagus season to truffles in November.

The most fun are celebrations put on by and for local people. There may not be world-famous entertainers, but there will be superb foods, singing, music, hilarious contests, and a few surprises. Nosh on sausages and sample local cheeses at street-side booths, or savor a hearty dinner at long shared tables in a tent, where a few euros will buy heaping plates of local specialties. Best of all, it’s a chance to mingle and share a day or evening with residents, who will do their best to make you welcome and make sure you have a good time.

On the shore of Lake Iseo, tiny Sulzano’s Cingale Festival brings a festive dinner of wild boar, while on the Ligurian coast, Camogli welcomes May with the Fish Festival of Saint Fortunato, patron saint of fishermen, and free fried fish on the beach.

In a giant chessboard on the main square is the scene of a game using live chessmen in medieval costumes. One of the most colorful is in Noto, Sicily, the third weekend of May, when an entire street is “painted” in intricate mosaics of fresh blossoms.

Aside from these dishes, traditional Tuscan wines such as bold reds like Chianti, Brunello, and Morellino will be served. Italy 10 Day Itinerary Day 5

10 Best Places to Visit in Italy

This is the time to take the train from Naples to Pisa during your Italy Itinerary and then your last destination for the day Florence. Pisa isnt really a great place to stay in. However, we couldnt resist seeing the famous leaning tower of Pisa in our Italy 10 Day Itinerary. There is a bus to take from the train station to the leaning tower of Pisa. However, the line to the bus is very crowded, especially during the high travel season.

During your Italy Itinerary in 10 Days, I suggest you get a cab to cut on time. It is also easier to find the cab back to the train station as well. Be sure to pack some locks on your trip so that you can lock up your luggage when traveling in between. Additionally, we were warned many times of pickpocketers in and around Pisa so be sure to have all your backs on you locked up including your purse.

Where Will The Olympic Games Take Place

The citys most iconic sights will be transformed into sporting arenas. Champs-Élysées will become a gigantic cycle track. Château de Versailles will host the horse races. Youll be able to watch the beach volleyball competition at the foot of the Eiffel Tower! And the Seine River will link all the sporting arenas.

Having in mind all this, Id recommend you stay near the Seine in the area from the Eiffel Tower to Louvre. Paris has excellent public transport, so youll have no problem reaching each sporting arena. Just be sure to book a hotel right next to a metro station.

So here is your definitive list of Italy’s top 10 best places to visit. The information in this article is taken from The Rough Guide to Italy your essential guide for visiting Italy.

Val Dorcia And The South Of Tuscany

Top 10 Places & Things To Do In Italy | Ultimate Italy Travel Guide

The area south of Tuscany, down to Siena and Montepulciano, is probably the most spectacular part of the region, with those beautiful rolling green hills that you have already seen in many photos around.

Having a car will add a local pace, made of no timeline and breaks in hidden and unknown villages along the way

As an example, the trip from Montalcino to Montepulciano can be done in 1 hour with a bus or 1 day with a car, visiting the few villages between, driving through the beautiful hills and stopping for a few photos, making an excursion in a Riserva Naturale , having lunch in a local trattoria and so much more.

In this area, you can check out the following accommodations:

    • The Agriturismo Il Rigo is one of my favourite places in the whole of Tuscany. The location is really unbeatable, between wineries, old villages and thermal baths. The view is just unique and the interior design is so typical Tuscan style.
    • The Palazzo dei Diavoli is a great value farmhouse and boutique winery, just outside Montepulciano. The view is again spectacular . The rooms are spacious, however, they do not have that amazing Tuscan interior design as Il Rigo above. In saying that, it comes much cheaper.
    • Villa Montalcino is a great place if you are travelling in a group or with kids . It is basically a small castle in the middle of the Tuscan countryside. Close to the village of Montalcino and just 40km from Siena.

Another possibility is to stay between Florence and Siena, the Chianti Area.
