Grand Teton National Park
To experience Grand Teton National Park to its fullest, many people choose to stay inside it in the summer. This offers you the opportunity to be close to what the park has to offer while still being able to travel back and forth to Jackson Hole for other activities or in-town dining.

Things To See And Do In South Park
- Head to Snow King Mountain, one of the highest peaks in this area and also a great place for skiing.
- Try your hand on a fishing trip along the Snake River!
- Enjoy water sports at Snake River. If you dont get seasick then have a go at white water rafting along Snake Rivers rapids!

What Are My Options
Three’s the charm out here you can mix and match your mountains with relative ease.
Snow King Mountain: Known as the Town Hill, Snow King Mountain offers a lot for such a small area. The oldest ski area in Wyoming celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2019 and in 2022 a new gondola arrived to take skiers to the summit in style. In addition to skiing, the King is a fun-filled destination for an afternoon of winter activities such as snow tubing and a mountain roller coaster. The hill boasts one of the steepest sustained pitches, top-to-bottom, of any ski area in the lower 48. A favorite lunchtime destination for locals, it hosts many national ski teams during the early season and local, state and regional Alpine races throughout the winter. The King also offers night skiing until 6:30 p.m. The resort is open from the first week in December through the end of March.
Traveler Tip: If you’d rather not bring your own skis, boots, and poles with you, there are several places in town where you can rent great equipment and of course, rental gear is available at each resort.
Where To Stay For Nightlife
In 1956 a Jackson local wrote a book about bars in Jackson: The Cocktail Hour in Jackson Hole. Only the cocktail hour wasnt the usual 5-6pm it was from mid-September to Thanksgiving! There is plenty to do in Jackson Hole other than drinking in Winter, but there are still plenty of great bars to enjoy.
There are a few bars in Teton Village, but the greater selection is downtown at Jackson Town. One of our favourites is Snake River Brewing. There are good reasons Snake River Brewery has twice been named the Small Brewery of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest.

Wyoming Inn Of Jackson Hole
The Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole has a Western elegant vibe and is located about a mile from downtown and 20 minutes from the Jackson Hole ski area. There is a local bus stop directly in front of the hotel, making it convenient for public transport users.
If you don’t feel like going downtown, the hotel has its own restaurant, The Whistling Grizzly, which serves breakfast and dinner daily. A few other dining options are within walking distance.
Rooms and suites are well appointed, with pillow-top mattresses and quality linens. All come with microwaves, fridges and Keurig coffee makers. There is also a small fitness room with a Peloton bike and a hot tub on-site.
Best Things To Do In Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole is known for its world-class skiing, so a day skiing or snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a must. The mountain features 13 lifts with 2,500 acres of in-bound terrain and 4,139 vertical feet from the base to the top of Rendezvous Mountainmaking it the longest, continuous vertical rise of any ski resort in the U.S. If youre that person on the trip who isnt a skier, take a scenic ride to the top of Bridger Gondola for 360-degree views of Teton Valleym and enjoy a drink at Piste Mountain Bistro .

The company offers single-day and multi-day treks through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park all year long, offering a glimpse into the great outdoors with the help of skilled guides. Depending on the season, expect to see wolves, elk, bison, bears, and foxes. You also can explore on your own with a visit to Grand Teton National Park if you dont have the time for a more scheduled deep dive into the wild.
In summer, a hike up Wildflower Trail or Corbits Cabin is a solid workout that comes with awe-inspiring valley views once at top. You can take the gondola back down or continue the adventure at the Via Ferrata , a sort of clipped-in version of mountain climbing that can be done by kids as young 11. Mountain biking has gained popularity in the area, too. Two new trails, accessed via the Sweetwater Gondola, will open summer 2021.

Heres What You Need to Know:
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is home to some of the most legendary skiing in the country. There are a few unique neighborhoods and suburbs near Jackson that are sure to suit anyones tastes. The most common airport to access the resort is Jackson Hole Airport, located within the boundary of Grand Teton National Park. Be aware, however, that the airport will be closed from April 11th until mid-summer for improvements.
If you are planning to travel during those dates, check out Yellowstone Regional or Idaho Falls airports as an alternative. As for getting from the airport to your accommodations, many hotels in the Jackson metro provide shuttles. Alternatively, rental cars are plentiful in Jackson. During peak busy times around holidays and spring break, the rates are known to increase. Book early to avoid extra fees!

If you want to ski Jackson Hole and can afford it, this is the place to be.The hotel is in a perfect location for skiing. The ski concierge service in the basement means you don’t have to deal with having your skis and boots in the hotel room. And the Handle Bar is a great spot to stop in for lunch for an après-ski drink.The rooms are very nice, with a great mountain feel to them.In-room dining is also excellent. We had several meals in the room this trip and all of them were quite good.Staff and service were excellent.
