The Best Place To Stay In Keystone

We had an exceptional experience at The Keystone Lodge and Spa. We were promptly greeted and assisted by the valet. Our luggage and car were taken care of by Richard, and Alex at the front desk was great. Our room was on the 5th floor with a wonderful balcony and nice view! The room was perfectly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. This is a great place to stay. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary private shuttle to River Run, right next to the gondola, and the complimentary ski valet/storage next to the gondola. This makes it very easy – no hassles, no lugging your skis everywhere – I loved this. I enjoy skiing and thats what I come for. At the end of a great ski day, I just check my ski’s, and ride the shuttle back to a very relaxing and comfortable room. I loved it, and I will be back. T. GiammancoMore

• Ski Tip Lodge The restaurant at the lodge is a popular place with diners for its great food and ambiance. You can enjoy a four-course meal paired with house-infused cocktails.
• Keystone Ranch This high-end steak house is a little away from the resort but well worth the drive. The highlight of dining here is being invited into the living room for after-dinner dessert and coffee by a huge fireplace.

Getting To And Around Keystone

There are free Keystone busses that can get you from East Keystone to River Run to Mountain House. The free Summit Stage bus can take you east to A-Basin and west to Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco, and Breckenridge. The bus system is amazing and makes it convenient to stay or park anywhere in Summit County.

Keystone is right off the I-70 so if you are coming in from Denver, it is quick to get here. Although I wouldnt let that be the only factor in deciding where to go because driving through Summit County is a treat for the senses.

We Stayed 3 Nites In Rockerville

We stayed 3 nites in Rockerville – 7 miles N. of Keystone – we loved Keystone atmosphere – people so friendly, excellent restaurantsand low -key. We went in Oct so not terribly crowded – good pkgspots. Most things close fairly early – few rest. open past9 pm.Grt location to Mt. Rushmore – 10 min. – 20 min. to Hill City – andthe 1880 trains at Keystone/Hill City. Much smaller than Hill City andnot as touristy – we enjoyed Keystone best.

River Run Is Best For More Advanced Skiers

River Run is the most expensive of the lodging areas because its closest to the main lift up the mountain the River Run Gondola as well as the best apres-ski.

The pick of the accommodation is at the Timbers and the Lone Eagle condominiums, which are both set across the river from the main village and are ski-in, ski-out. Both are upmarket by Keystone standards but Timbers is the posher of the two. If you want to be more in the thick of things, then book the River Run Condos in the middle of the village but try to get a top floor room, so youre not bothered by noise at the weekends.

North And West Keystone

North and West Keystone are quieter locations and are best for those looking for a more serene mountain experience.

At the Aspen Ridge Condominiums in North Keystone, youll find a three-building complex with a pool, hot tub, and ski storage.

This hotel was definitely no frills not even coffee pot in room. There was hardly enough room for two suitcases. There was not even a chair in the room. There was a bug and a spider crawling around on the bathroom. The TV was a good quality. The pillows were small and hard. The air conditioner did not work. The breakfast room only had coffee and tap water apple juice to drink. All in all glad only spent one night there

Keystone is a Great little town with a ton of shops loaded with really neat stuff. Lots of good places to eat and the 1880 train ride is the best! I enjoyed Mt Rushmore and Sylvan Lake and everyone should take the drive on Needles Highway and the Pigtail Bridges. The Hills are a very special place with a lot of Wildlife. I actually had to stop for 8 large Bighorn Rams crossing the road. This is the best working vacation I have ever had.
