Best Place To Stay In Lake Como

Best Places To Stay In Miami

Is LAKE COMO Worth the HYPE?!

Miami brings people from around the world to their tucked away corner on the Atlantic. From the glamour of the beach-like lifestyle to the high-end South Beach area, Miami has several locations to enjoy.

South Beach

South Beach is one of the most popular Miami locations. A hotel on South Beach means paying more for the same accommodations, but with the opportunity to tell everyone you are staying local. Prices are much higher on South Beach, but for that higher price, you put yourself in the center of nightlife and you can walk to most establishments. The Marriott Stanton South Beach and 1 Hotel South Beach are good starting points.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach and South Beach are not the same, even though they are mentioned together. Miami Beach rests north of South Beach and includes Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour. The Loews Miami Beach Hotel and Fontainebleau Miami Beach are located downtown and offer seaside accommodations.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is south of Miamis downtown district and is considered a wealthy suburb. However, it is also a tourist hotspot. The hotels here and in the Coral Gables region are pricey, but still cheaper than South Beach. The Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Coconut Grove and Sonesta Coconut Grove are two popular hotels in the area.

Cheap Hotels In Los Angeles

Southern California has a reputation for being costly to visit, but if you know the secrets of the city, you can easily find a hotel in the mix without spending too much. On Central Avenue, you have the Sandpiper Beachfront Motel. Also, the closer you get to the airport , the better rates you will find, including a La Quinta Inn & Suites. Mandarin Oriental Lake Como

THIS Is The Best Place to Stay in Lake Como

Once the lakefront estate of Italian opera singer Giuditta Pasta, Mandarin Oriental took over this 75-room grand dame in 2018. Milan-based designer Eric Egan made over heavy interiors , sharpening the meticulous gardens and floating swimming pool. Mandarin Oriental added a lounge for afternoon tea and a spa in the basement, bringing in Italian chef Massimiliano Blasone to oversee the resorts restaurants and bars. This was the Mandarin Oriental’s first European resort and a rare new arrival on the lake yet it slotted into the scene seamlessly.

Getting Around Los Angeles

Los Angeles is not a place you want to rent a vehicle, unless you like freeways and city streets that look like parking lots where you are fighting your way along with aggressive drivers. California drivers have a system, a mind of their own, and they can tell when you are not a Californian. Instead, stick with the Metro system. Here you have buses, dash buses, and the trains that take you just about anywhere you need to go. Fares are $1.75 USD per adult, but if you purchase a 7-day card, you skip the lines and get a discounted rate. The TAP cards are $1 USD each at the vending machine and onboard buses and $2 USD at TAP vendor locations.

Learn About Attractions And Sights In Miami

Of course you can spend your time at the beach, but that is not all that Miami has to offer. If you spend all your time at the beach, you are missing out on a few of the must-see items:

  • Naturally, you may want to start with a few beaches. Choose from the island escape of Key Biscayne, the famous stretch on Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, and Surfside. Bal Harbour Beach is perfect for not only sun and surf, but the Bal Harbour Shops too. Haulover Beach is across from Bal Harbour and connected by a bridge. For family-friendly beaches, go over to Matheson Hammock Park Beach and Homestead Bayfront Park Beach.
  • For nightlife, Miami has some of the hottest clubs for dancing, singing, and exotic drinks. LIV Miami Nightclub is at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach and ranks as one of the 5 highest grossing clubs in the United States. Mangos Tropical Café is another nightlife hotspot as well as Wall Lounge at West Miami Beach.
  • Venture over to Sawgrass Mills Miami, which is the largest mall in the state. Sawgrass has international and domestic retailers, dining, and high-end boutiques.
  • For family-friendly ideas, visit the Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, also known as Zoo Miami, which has more than 700 animals and exhibits that alternate year-round. The Monkey Jungle, a 30-acre wildlife park is a surefire way to entertain the little ones, but costs more than the zoo. At Pinecrest Gardens, you have a jungle-like park experience with a playground, koi ponds, and a petting zoo.

Cadenabbia Popular Spa Town On The West Shore Of Lake Como

Immediately north of Tremezzo, Cadenabbia is a popular spa town along the west shore of Lake Como. If you need somewhere to relax, unwind, and release some of the stress and tension that builds up in your everyday life, head to Cadenabbia for some rest and rejuvenation.

Cadenabbia is especially lush, with the whole town swathed in trees. This is particularly convenient in the summer, when they provide shade and a reprieve from the heat of the sun when you are wandering the winding streets.

For all that it is beautiful, Cadenabbia is a particularly small town with fairly few amenities outside of the hotels and resorts.

Conveniently, Tremezzo is just a short walk along the waterfront. If the few bars and restaurants in Cadenabbia arent enough, just take a wander over to the larger town to have a bit more of a selection.

The beautiful and expansive botanical gardens of Villa Carlotta are just to the south, between Cadenabbia and Tremezzo. With over five hundred species of exotic plants to admire, along with an art gallery filled with exquisite sculptures, it is certainly worth taking an afternoon to explore the villa.

There are, of course, also some pretty churches around the town.

If you feel like a short hike one day, head up through the woods to Cappella Alpini. The adorable little chapel may not have the stature or grandiosity of a proper Italian church, but it is super sweet and the view from up on the hill is worth the trek on its own.

Lezzeno Where To Stay In Lake Como In An Authentically Italian Town

The area of Lezzeno is comprised of numerous little towns and villages, the most notable of which is its namesake, Lezzeno.

Sitting close to the center of Lake Como, just a couple of miles south of Bellagio, Lezzeno boasts some especially lovely views, particularly of nearby Isola Comacina

Still largely undiscovered by the tourist crowds, Lezzeno offers a quieter alternative to the better-known resort towns. If you want to stay somewhere with a more authentically local atmosphere, then this is a fantastic choice.

There are lots of charming local bars and cafes for you to relax in and mingle with the locals. Meanwhile, Lezzenos family-run restaurants serve up excellent regional cuisine with a home cooked warmth.

There are not a ton of big sights and attractions to see in this particular neighborhood. Like most Italian towns, there are a fair few pretty churches to explore and admire. A walk through the woods will also take you to various old ruins and even more churches and monasteries.

Lezzeno is not the best-connected town in the region, lacking a proper ferry terminal. Bus routes do connect it to the neighboring towns though, so you could hop over to Bellagio and take a ferry from there.

Alternatively, you could hire a boat yourself, which would give you even more freedom to explore the lake and its mysteries.

Accommodation in the area is decently affordable. There is a good range to pick from, whether you prefer cozy bed and breakfasts or bright and airy hotels.
