An Introduction To Nuremberg

10 Best and Most Beautiful Places to Visit in Germany

Nuremburg is the state of Bavarias second largest city with over half a million people. Its located in the northern part of Germanys biggest state and there is a huge array of places to see in Nuremberg that appeal to tourists.

Henry III became the Holy Roman Emperor in 1046 and Nuremberg started its reign of being the unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, and the preferred home of most German Kings. Their crown jewels were kept here and many wonderful buildings were built here making it quite the treasure trove. This made it an attractive place to live for artists which helped further increase Nurembergs treasures.

The city became a free imperial city in the 13th century and it had a few hundred years of financial and cultural growth. By 1806, however, it had stopped being an imperial city and became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria.

Later in the 19th century, Nuremberg began to prosper again thanks to the industrial revolution and becoming home to Germanys first railway. Their working class became a powerful breeding ground for the Nazi Party years later.

If youve ever seen those old black and white films of fanatical Nazi supporters hailing Hitler, most probably the film was taken in Nuremberg. Thanks to this, Nuremberg became the starting point for atrocities such as the boycotting of Jewish businesses and removing German citizenship for Jewish people.

Theres also a decent bus and tram network. Tickets are included in a day pass or can be purchased individually. Tuck Into A Delicious Steak At Drrer Hase Steakhouse

This steak was soooooo delicious

As Chloe & I were on a romantic trip to the city, we thought wed treat ourselves to a delicious steak dinner.

We were told that the Dürrer Hase Steakhouse had some of the best steaks in town, so on our second night in Nuremberg we headed there for dinner.

With a tiny menu and only 3 different steaks to choose from, Dürrer Hase concentrates on quantity over quality. Each steak is cooked to absolute perfection it was so juicy and tender.

We also ordered a really nice side of grilled vegetables which accompanied the meat well. And we couldnt resist a couple of glasses of red too!

For me, this was such a good place to eat in Nuremberg. Again, I cant recommend this place enough.

Warning Against Dubious Hotel Offers

More and more travel agencies, especially English-speaking ones from Great Britain, are currently approaching our exhibitors and offer allegedly “entitled discounts” on hotel accommodation. Please be aware that NürnbergMesse GmbH has not commissioned any travel agencies, especially in Great Britain or the USA, to contact exhibitors and sell hotel rooms. Please be alert if you are contacted by English-speaking telephone numbers that also give the impression of calling in the name and on behalf of the event team. Do not book hotel rooms over the phone if approached by phone and do not give payment information over the phone.

NürnbergMesse operates its own hotel booking platform, accessible at hotels.nuernbergmesse.de, where we offer exhibitors allotments of rooms in our PartnerHotels. You are welcome to book here, contact the travel agency of your choice or book directly at the hotel of your choice.
