Lotus Honolulu At Diamond Head
The sophisticated and serene Lotus Honolulu snuggles in one of Waikiki’s most appealing regions. Away from the fast-pace of Waikiki, it is an ideal resort for newlyweds. You will find several accommodations options, each surrounded by lush landscapes. Relax on private lanai with stunning views of either Diamond Head or the Pacific Ocean.
Oahu is an incredible Hawaiian Island, but it is also the most popular of all the Hawaiian Islands, so accordingly plan if you want to honeymoon there. The summers will be both crowded and loud, so I recommend picking a resort away from the Waikiki strip. Oahu has hundreds of resort properties, but these are the Sexiest Honeymoon Resorts in Oahu. Where To Stay In Honolulu & Waikiki
If youve weighed it all out and decided that staying in Waikiki is right for you, heres where I recommend:
The Royal Hawaiian: This iconic Waikiki resort has been featured in movies since the 1960s. Its style speaks of a bygone era but its still high on modern luxuries. Its right in the heart of Waikiki so if you want to see and do it all while staying at some of the coolest digs in Waikiki, this is your spot. If its in the budget, definitely book the Mailani Tower. No trip to Waikiki is complete until youve sipped a mai tai on the lanai here. Pricing starts at $250/night. Book a room directly with the Moana Surfrider here and read hundreds of reviews here.
Sheraton Waikiki: This relaxed beach resort right on Waikiki Beach has great amenities including three restaurants, an infinity pool , and spa. Cons Of Staying In Ko Olina
-Many of the islands main tourist attractions are far away, or at least they take a long time to get to if you get stuck in traffic. It can take an hour to get to Hanauma Bay or the gorgeous beaches of the Windward Coast, 1-1.5 hours to get to the Polynesian Cultural Center and potentially even longer to Sunset Beach on the North Shore on a weekend.-You may not get the same feel for Hawaii that you would on the North Shore or the Windward Coast if youre staying at some of the Ko Olina resorts and dont explore beyond the gates. For example, you can pay to snorkel at Disneys artificial Rainbow Reef lagoon or head elsewhere on the island to check out a real reef for free . Of course its up to you whether or not thats an important factor in planning your vacation!-It aint cheap. Ko Olina has some of the most expensive accommodations on Oahu! There are ways to score deals but it still wont be as affordable as renting an Airbnb elsewhere on the island.-Speaking of Airbnb Just like many cities in Europe, local residents have resisted the growing Airbnb trend and may not be as welcoming of tourists staying off-resort as other parts of the island.-If you do venture off the resort, keep your rental car clear of valuables. Waianae to the north has the highest crime rate on Oahu, with most of that being property crime.

Including Ko Olina & Makaha
On the drier west Leeward side of the island, you’ll discover the resort community of Ko’olina. It has the same resort feel to the area, unlike along the north and east/windward coasts, which have a more ‘local’ vibe.

This area offers a remarkable array of natural wonders, including crystalline waters, cascading waterfalls, spectacular mountains, and lush tropical rainforests. Here you’ll find a selection of resorts, a golf course, a marina, and shopping and dining options in a small shopping center. There’s even a Target, Walmart, and Costco nearby in Kapolei.
The Drawbacks of Staying in the Leeward Waianae Coast Including Ko Olina & Makaha
The restaurant’s specialty areas have been very popular with visitors to the islands for a while, mainly because of their accessibility from Waianae. The area’s beauty has also attracted developers who have put up high-rises near famous beaches. Unfortunately, you may find it problematic to reach the rest of the island in these secluded areas. With the increase in popularity, traffic has been an issue, and parking is even more difficult.
