Pros: Close proximity to the long, wide black-sand beach of Perissa is the main draw of this hotel.
Cons: Though it’s directly across from the beach, rooms lack sea views. All the pools and jetted tubs, including private ones, are unheated, which is fine for summer, but too chilly to use in the off-season.
Located on the southeastern side of Santorini, this family-friendly hotel sits just across from Perissa’s famously wide, black-sand beach. The setting is quiet and peaceful, but it’s close to many seaside restaurants and 15 minutes by foot to the bar and nightlife scene in coastal Perivolos.
Rooms and suites are simple, modern, all-white affairs with touches of soft gray and blue. All have outdoor space and some feature outdoor jetted tubs or private plunge pools. Entry-level Superior Doubles are on the cozy side and suitable for couples, while split-level suites offer separate sleeping areas on each floor, making them ideal for families.

Pyrgos For Panoramic View
The most attractive traditional village of Santorini is Pyrgos. From its highest point, you can experience panoramic sunset views over the entire Santorini. Most of Pyrgos is pedestrian-only with its maze-like pathways filled with restaurants, local boutiques, scenic churches, and the wrecks of a Venetian castle. You will see vineyards on the hills, many offering tours, and tasting opportunities.
It is the best place to stay in Santorini if you need seclusion, tranquility, and experiencing local life. Its about a 10-minute bus ride into Fira, in case you want more dining, nightlife, and shopping sometimes. To get to Oia you need to take a second 20-minutes bus ride.
Santorini Tours A Boat Trip To Hike The Volcano
Were nearing the end of our Santorini honeymoon so its time to get active again. We have more of Santorini to see!
Last night in Fira we booked a boat trip to visit the other must-see sight on the island the volcano. The basic boat trip to the volcano is a 2-hour ride that also includes a stop at the hot springs on the island.
It sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon and afterward, well grab dinner in town before returning to the hotel in time for sunset.
The boat ride itself is fabulous and a terrific way to see the island from sea level. The only disappointment is the hot springs. Getting to them requires a 15-minute swim from the boat in the ice-cold Aegean Sea to reach the shore.
Oh, and by the time you get there, youre left with about 10 minutes to enjoy the hot springs before you need to start swimming back. We pass on that one but a few hearty souls make the swim and survive.
Our main objective is the hike to the top of the volcano and that part of the trip is awesome. Our guide pauses 3 times on the 30-minute hike up to give us more information about the volcano, point out steam vents in the rock, and generally let everyone catch their breath.
The views from the summit are simply incredible, a panoramic view of the C-shaped island of Thira. It is truly the perfect way to spend an afternoon on Santorini.

Perissa Captivating With Its Black Sand Beach
Perissa is among the most romantic places in Santorini, and in fact theres a unique characteristic that pulls people from world across Its black sand beach, being kissed away by azure sea waves. To top it all on your honeymoon, there are many beach facilities for your comfort Santorini boutique hotels, taverns, beach sunbeds are just some of them. Mesa Vouno, the gigantic rock beside the beach is yet another attractions of the locale.
How to make it special: Walk hand in hand on the beach, take the narrow path to the ancient ruins of Thera. You can decide to go on foot, or take a donkey-ride to reach the point.

Guests can happily lose themselves in the winding streets and pine-lined squares without getting lost, and will find an array of shops, eateries, and cafés like Kasteli 1663, with the latter specializing in delectable homemade desserts and featuring a permanent exhibition of black-and-white photography.
Visitors wishing to visit the five Venetian castles still standing in Santorini will no doubt want to make time for the Pyrgos Kasteli, arguably the best preserved. Make sure to keep an eye out for a peculiar feature above the door of the main gate: a fonissa, or murder-hole, through which boiling water could be poured onto the heads of would-be intruders.

Oia The Best Area Where To Stay In Santorini
Oia is among the most popular places to stay in Santorini, thanks to its unmatched panoramic spectacles, unforgettable sunsets, and attractive boutique hotels.
Located about 12 km from Fira, Oia sits atop an immense cliff, with the towering village offering visitors picture-perfect views of the volcano and island of Thirassia.
Guests can stroll along the narrow streets, explore the many shops and tavernas, take in some sun on one of the sun-washed verandas, or step inside one of the famous cerulean-domed churches which are so iconic of Greece.
A convenient car park situated at the entrance of the village permits easy access, with an additional port, Ammoudi, located just 300 steps down.
Oia is significantly quieter than Fira, and has long been a haven for artists and writers. There are many art galleries, as well as a maritime museum and remains of a Venetian fortress, along with a scattering of traditional tavernas serving up freshly caught seafood.

The Perfect Santorini Honeymoon Hotel Choice
After exhaustive research, Ive selected the Prekas Apartments for our stay.
In Santorini, its all about a caldera view. The pictures Ive seen of the view at Prekas are hard to beat. Im excited to see if it lives up to the photos.
Like most of the hotels on Santorini, Prekas is a small property with less than a dozen rooms. Unlike most of the hotels on Santorini, it is affordable at less than $150 a night.
But the big selling point for me is the perfectly cube-shaped turquoise pool jutting out over the cliff with stunning views of the caldera and Oia in the distance.
Our room is the only one directly overlooking the pool which makes it feel like we have our own private lagoon. Of course, by this time its too dark to see the caldera view. But the room is perfectly adorable, the pool looks divine and I cant wait to see the rest when the sun rises tomorrow.
The next morning we awake to a jaw-dropping view outside our terrace doors. I cant believe our luck at how absolutely perfect our hotel is. Score one more for TripAdvisor.

Sunbake On The Black Sand Beaches Of Perissa And Kamari
After visiting Ancient Thera and soaking up the spectacular views from above, we headed down the mountain to the black sand beaches of Kamari. Perissa Beach is on the other side and is about 30 minutes away from Kamari Beach. Here, sunbathing is extremely popular on the sparkling black beach. For non-sunbathers, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the street for you to indulge in the ultimate alfresco beachside experience. During summer, grab a gelato as you explore the streets.
During our visit, we went to Navys restaurant which despite the low season had plenty of visitors. We tried their Carbonara and Special Burger which was delicious. They also offer lounge chairs under thatched umbrellas on the beach for you when you visit their restaurant.
