St Armands & Lido Key

Sarasota Florida – Top 10 Things to See and Do – Top Attractions

A quick drive over The Ringling Causeway Bridge will land you on Lido Key, a decadent address for Sarasotas most thriving residents. Peruse St. Armands Circle for unusual goods from local boutiques, dine at restaurants with casual but chic beach vibes, and enjoy live music or just an ice cream cone here. The Circle, as locals call it, is a must-visit stop for luxury island vibes and enjoyable window shopping.

Just beyond The Circle, and within easy walking distance, is Lido Key Beach, a beautiful strip of sand, home to seabirds and other wildlife. Unlike Siesta Key Beach, Lido Key Beach is more relaxed and less busy, except for during July, when events like the Sarasota Power Boat Grand Prix attracts thousands of visitors. Parallel to the beach, there are numerous hotel options from The Holiday Inn Lido Beach to Lido Beach Resort.

Additional amenities include on-site laundry facilities, free bike rentals, and a fun firepit area with tiki torches.

The Sarasota Modern A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Convenience is key at this beautiful boutique hotel, which is nestled on a tree-lined street less than a mile away from Highway 41, Bayfront Park and Marina, and the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. The spacious and modern rooms come with convenient features like private balconies and study desks, and upgrades add separate living rooms and panoramic views. On-site amenities include a stunning swimming pool and a poolside bar, and guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast at the on-site restaurant. Best Area To Stay In Sarasota

We have 1 weeks timeshare exchange to Calini Beach Club in Siesta Key and have a search on for another week in the same place. If we dont get the other exchange we are considering staying a week in Sarasota.

Wed like to be in walking distance to Main Street where Ive read theres lots of places to visit and things to do. Ive seen a few places on Laurel Street and Burns Court areas and would be grateful for advice on these and other areas that would suit us. Thanks.

How much do you want to spend per night?

You could stay at the Ritz Carlton, the Hotel Indigo the Hotel Ranola and some private rentals. These are in walking distance to Main Street. Selby Gardens is also in walking distance.

What type of lodging are you looking for?

What types of things do you enjoy doing?

We dont want to spend more than $1000 inc tax for the week. Ive seen some beautiful properties less than this at the likes of Village de Pins but it seems a good bit farther from the centre. Southside Village is somewhere that looks interesting. Is that walkable?

We definitely want to visit Selby Gardens but suppose there will be a car park there if too far to walk. Wed like to have lunch in the city which would include wine hence the reason not to use the car. Id also like to go to any markets and other local events that are on while there.

Edited: 6 years ago

You will need a car to get to most places. Selby gardens has a parking lot as does Ringling Museum etc.

Thanks SRQgirl,
