    Hotel Prices In Seychelles

First things first: Seychelles is an expensive destination. Tourism is controlled to protect the pristine nature of the islands. Its also a remote island nation and most things need to be imported. But the country has developed economically and has the highest GDP per capita in Africa.

Accommodation prices are high in general hotel room rates are $150/night on average, with the cheapest room rates starting from $80/night. With 10 days in Seychelles, we stayed in a mixture of hotels, villas and self-catering apartments and we spent around $1800 on accommodation alone, which was much more than what we usually spend.

To cut cost, try to visit Seychelles during April and October, when prices are lower and the weather is at its best. Rainy season runs from January to February, but downpours are usually short. So if you dont mind risking a shower you can also save money on accommodation costs by traveling then.

Are Pets Allowed In Beach Hotels In Seychelles Island

Seychelles islands have many beaches that welcome pets and most resorts in these islands allow pets and even have pet care centers. However, some resorts in places like Eden Island may not allow pets. Some hilltop resorts may allow pets. It is a good idea to check with the hotel before deciding to bring a pet.

Where To Stay For First Time Visitors

My wife and I are looking to go to the Seychelles for our first time in march 2014. However we do not know where to start looking…which island to go to and which hotel?? Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Hello Andrew,

you and your wife should definitely see the Island of La Digue. It’s a jewel with it’s pristine beaches . Apart from that, I recommend that you do excursions to the St. Anne Marine Park and to Curieuse . On the main island of Mahe, you should definitely see the beaches in the south and explore Sans Souci .

On Praslin, I can recommend the Hotel Villas de Mer and on La Digue there is a cozy hotel located in the Veuve reserve, which is called Villa Veuve.

    Kind regards from Seychelles.

I guess it all depends on your budget and if you want to move around a lot or only a little. We chartered a yacht with a skipper for a week and visited at least 5 islands including Praslin, Cousine, Bird island etc. It worked out cheaper than staying at any 5* hotel and was so much fun.

My husband and I would like to charter a yacht for a week as well . Who can you suggest for Seychelles?

We used a company called Dream Yacht Charter. They have a base on Praslin. I didn’t want to set off from Mahe. We used an online form on their website to find out about available boats and then kept in touch by email and phone. I was really impressed with their service overall and the skipper in particular.

    Hi all,

I hope I was useful too.

Four Seasons Resort At Desroches Island

Desroches is a coral cay of great beauty in the remote Amirantes archipelago, laced with white-sand beaches and surrounded by a warm, shallow lagoon. There has been a lodge here for many years, but the new owners decided to tear it down and rebuild from scratch, calling in Four Seasons to manage it . The result is a serious international player with a commitment to service rarely seen in these far-flung parts. The hotel itself is restricted to the south of the island, where a lighthouse has been built at its furthest point as the setting for a smart, dinner-only restaurant. There are 40 guest villas, quietly and immaculately done out and set in big, lawned gardens with private pools, from which secret walkways lead to wide beaches where turtles nest. In addition, the island is home to private villas, some of which have been added to the Four Seasons inventory. Everyone gets a bicycle to explore the grounds and beyond, where there is a small Creole village with a chapel and a dense forest traversed by sandy paths.
