Take The High Roller At Dusk
Martin from Light Up My Photos says, The High Roller is the tallest observation wheel in the world at 550 feet high . Try to board it as close to dusk as possible, that way you get specular views in daylight and in nightlight. In addition, six of the 28 cabins have fully stocked bars and a bartender! So, for an extra $20 or so you can buy Happy Half Hour Tickets and have as many top shelf drinks as you want in the 30 minutes it takes to complete one revolution.
Try to book advanced tickets to avoid long line ups. Also, keep an eye out for Groupon or other discount vouchers for deals.

Use Las Vegas Monorail
One of the best ways to get around the strip is the Las Vegas Monorail! This super cool monorail avoids Vegas traffic completely, keeps you in the air conditioning, and runs on the back east side of the line of resorts. Its also much cheaper than the HoHo buses.
Las Vegas Monorail stretches from the MGM Grand down through the Las Vegas Convention Center to the SAHARA which is across the street from the Stratosphere Tower. There are 7 stops in total which will get you near most areas you want to see on the strip.
Trains typically arrive every 5-6 minutes at each stop. You can just pay for one ride, but a day or a multi-day pass gives you much better value. Children aged 5 and under ride for free. You can get tickets online or at each station in the Ticket Vending Machines which are located at each Monorail station entrance.
Good to know: The typical hours of Las Vegas monorail are from 7 AM to 2 AM. On weekends, it runs until 3 AM. On Mondays until midnight.
TIP: Get a pass for your entire stay in town as this will save the most money.

Opt for the happy half-hour ticket, a touch more expensive, but youll have access to an open bar for the duration of your 30-minute round trip. Enjoy French Food At My Favorite Las Vegas Restaurant
For dinner, head to the nearby Paris hotel to hit up Mon Ami Gabi my favorite restaurant in all of Las Vegas! If you can, try to sit outside so that you have a perfect view of the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel. You cant go wrong with the steak frites at Mon Ami Gabi.
If you have time after dinner, I recommend visiting the viewing deck ontop of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel. If youre visiting Las Vegas for the first time, you will get a kick out of this! You can get tickets to the Eiffel Tower viewing deck here.
Make sure to get tickets ahead of time, since this is a popular Vegas tourist attraction, and can get really crowded.

About an hour away from Vegas is the Valley of Fire National Park. Driving through the Valley of Fire is the easiest way to enjoy the view. Pink, red, and orange sandstone rocks create amazing vistas that you can see from your car.

Visit The Mirage Volcano
The volcano show at Mirage opened in 1989, and it last underwent a renovation in 2008. The Mirage volcano was designed by the same team who created the Bellagio Fountains.
The volcano erupts daily at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, there will be an additional 10:00 p.m. show.
This is another free thing to do in Vegas and it is beautiful to see the lagoon around the Mirage.

Got $95/70 Try The Tropicana
If youve got a bit more to spend, head to the south end of the Strip to the vintage-style Tropicana*. Its one of the few original 1950s casinos, and although it has been renovated by current owners Hilton, it still has its retro entrance complete with vintage Chevy.
Inside its done up in bright and airy tropical South Beach style, with white walls decorated with greenery and flashes of orange. I stayed in a standard Paradise Tower room, but you can also upgrade to a poolside bungalow. All rooms come with plantation-style shutters and rattan furniture to go with the theme, along with a big flatscreen TV, safe and desk.
The lagoon pool is a good place to relax, with waterfalls and whirlpools and surrounded by palm trees with plenty of loungers and cabanas. Theres a theatre, comedy club and live music venue Food options include a casual beach café, the Bacio Italian restaurant, Robert Irvines Public House and the Red Lotus Asian Kitchen. The resort fee is $37 per night.
For a similar price also try Treasure Island, New York New York and the MGM Grand.
Mandalay Bay Excalibur Tram
This is a short express tram ride that begins at Mandalay Bay, makes a stop at the Luxor, and ends at Excalibur. This tram runs from 11 AM to 10.30 PM.
The entire ride is just a 7-minute trip, but it will help you travel through these three hotels much more quickly. What looks like a short walk, could take up to 45 minutes on foot.
Good to know: There is also an Express Tram that runs directly between the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, skipping the Luxor altogether. It takes just 3 minutes.
TIP: Be on the lookout! The Main Station on this trip has a free slot pull machine with a $5,000 payoff. So be sure to stop there for a free pull and try your luck! You may end up winning a free show ticket instead, but free is free!
