HI Whistler was built in 2010 and was at the time used as accommodation for the athletes competing in the Winter Olympics. Best Family Hotels Whistler Village
This main village with its pedestrian only Village Stroll is a very popular spot to stay with the greatest concentration of hotels, restaurants and amenities.
Pros: You are within easy walking distance of lots of great restaurants, shopping, the childrens playground, the outdoor ice rink , the bike park, the skate park, the movie theatre and the gondolas to both mountains.
Cons: The only real downside to Whistler Village is that it can sometimes get a bit lively at night for families wishing to get to bed early. In recent years, I have pulled a few hotels off this list after some sleepless nights.

With Whistler been a pretty pricey affair, the well-supplied kitchen might get a lot of use if youre trying to keep costs down.

Creekside Best Neighbourhood In Whistler For Families
While it is now overlooked to the profit of Whistler Village, Creekside is actually where the whole Blackcomb resort history started. Indeed, Creekside was the place where the first chair to go skiing was installed years ago.

Upper Whistler Where To Stay In Whistler Your First Time
Located within walking distance of the main Whistler Village, Upper Whistler is the perfect place to stay for your first time in Whistler. Although it is so close to all the main action, Upper Whistler will make you feel like you are in a secluded village in the middle of nowhere. The pine tree forests surrounding it make Upper Whistler feel like it is isolated from the rest of the world, which is really nice if you are trying to really unplug!

Two gondolas can take you directly from Upper Whistler to the top of the slopes. The biggest one is Merlins Wizard Express, which can be reached from right outside your door. Skiing in and out of your hotel is, lets admit it, a luxury I love.
If you are more into cross-country skiing, the Lost Lake provides great terrain to practice. During the summer, you can hike around it and stop for a nice picnic in the forest.

The Legends Hotel is located in Creekside, a couple kilometres away from Function Junction. Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre
Confession: The Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre is one of our familys favorite hotels in Whistler. Pan Pacific has two hotel properties in Whistler , but Whistler Village Centre is slightly off of the main stage, and therefore a bit quieter its a great boutique hotel in Whistler for families. The large, family-sized suites include a full kitchen, dining area and spacious rooms for kids and gear.
The Village Centre is the only hotel in the village that includes a full, hot European Breakfast for all guests. Served between 7-10 AM, the breakfast buffet is outstanding, featuring baked goods, hot and cold items, drinks, juices, fruit and yoghurt. Its the perfect start to any successful ski day, especially when they serve maple syrup whipped cream to die for delicious!
Things to do in Whistler with kids in winter
For après, the Pan Pacific hotel offers a cosy hot chocolate and cookie tea-time. Its a lovely way to end the day and begin the evening. Theres a good-sized, heated outdoor pool and hot tub with outstanding views of both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
Its just a 5 minute walk to collect your ski gear at the complimentary ski valet at Pan Pacific Mountainside, located at the base of Blackcomb.
