Best Luxury Hotel In Jackson Hole: The Wort Hotel
Located in the best place to stay in Jackson Hole for the first time, Jackson, this hotel has everything you could need! A traditional American bar, gym, function areas and beautifully furnished rooms!
Theres a hot tub where you can relax and enjoy the views of the mountains, as well as a brilliant onsite restaurant!
Jackson Hole is a truly unique place where you can go on some once in a lifetime adventures. It is a valley situated between the Teton Mountain Range and the Gros Ventre Range in Wyoming, very close to the border with Idaho.
The valley boasts some of the most incredible views in Wyoming State, and its a haven for all kinds of wildlife, from elk to beavers!
Historically, the valley was sacred to Native Americans and became a settlement in the 1870s, and with the chance to visit Yellowstone National Park situated to the north, its not a surprise that its so popular with tourists!
Moose-ed
If youre looking for exciting, bustling cities, Jackson Hole isnt the place for you. Although there are some settlements, the valley is largely untouched so that its outstanding natural beauty can shine through.
However, this doesnt mean there isnt any civilization. My top place to stay in Jackson Hole for your first time is downtownJackson which offers some lovely cafes, restaurants, and bars, as well as fascinating museums teaching you about the local area!
You do the math.
Where To Eat: Restaurants Bakeries & More
Old Yellowstone Garage
You can order high, you can order low, but you cant order wrong at Old Yellowstone Garage in Teton Village, which serves fine dining dishes like pan roasted pheasant . . . but also sausage pizza.
Coelette
Coelette offers snowline cuisine, or dishes comprised of ingredients found, grown, and raised in alpine environments cooked with mountain-honed techniques. Its an innovative conceptmost ski towns, after all, focus on hearty comfort foodand Coelette succeeds in embracing literally and figuratively elevated cuisine.
A yak ribeye is accented with long-fermented vegetable sauce, while a plate of gold oyster mushrooms are dusted with fresh cracked juniper. When this writer visited, a Japanese snow trout was on the menu. Housed inside the historic Coe log cabin, the inside is warm, Western, cozy, and even a little playfula glass disco ball hangs from the dining room. Bask in the refined yet rugged ambiance.
Kampai
Don’t let Jackson’s thousand-mile distance from the ocean fool youthis town serves up some seriously good sushi. Stop by the recently opened Kampai, which serves up both local fish and delicacies flown overnight from Japan. You won’t forget youre in Wyoming, however: Some menu items aim to cheekily embody a contrarian spirit: take the John Galt roll, a nod to Ayn Rand’s libertarian manifesto Atlas Shrugged.

Getting To And Around Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole Airport is small and picturesque, with direct flights from more than a dozen American cities, including New York , Houston, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Flights are more frequent in winter and summer months. Once youre on the ground you can use Uber as well as several taxi services, but plan on renting a car at the airport if you can. Jackson Hole is spread out and youll want the flexibility to explore neighboring towns and parks on your own schedule. Start Bus is an affordable option to hop from the town of Jackson to Teton Village to ski or have a drink. In summer, Start Bike, a fleet of smart bikes available for ride share, is a fun way to scoot around town and can help avoid traffic.
Jackson’s downtown area is filled with galleries and shops.

Where To Stay In Jackson Hole
Teton Village and the town of Jackson are like night and day, depending on what youre looking to accomplish. The village is more expensive and, at the end of the day, more relaxing when the sun goes down. And while town isnt cheap by any means, its where all the nightlife action is and gets pretty rowdy .
In town:The Cloudveil, Jacksons first luxury digs, has all the amenities of a slopeside resortlike cozy in-room fireplaces, spacious rooms, and a hot tub with viewsonly its steps from all of the restaurants and nightlife. After the slopes, catch unobstructed views from The Cloudveils rooftop, winterized with blankets, firepits, and warming libations from The Bistro. The Anvil Hotel feels like a country shop with little touches, like pegs and cubbies to organize outdoor gear, custom-designed Woolrich blankets, and a gorgeous mercantile with handpicked gifts. Plus, its attached to Glorietta, a hyped Italian restaurant with a standout wine and cocktail list . For budget seekers, Cache House is a modern spin on a hostel, but with ridiculously comfy beds, private showers, and stylish hangout areasall for a fraction of the price in these parts.

Jackson Wy Is Great For Stopping By On The Way Somewhere
Jackson, WY is great for stopping by on the way somewhere else. It is not a great place to stay unless you are really into being a tourist with a lot of other tourists. Everything was way overpriced without really having a lot of value. There were minimal if any “local” type spots. If you want to spend a lot of money without getting a lot out of it, this is the place to go. The access to Grand Tetons was great, but I would have much preferred staying outside of Jackson, closer to nature. The highway goes through the middle of town and it is busy!

Grand Teton National Park
To experience Grand Teton National Park to its fullest, many people choose to stay inside it in the summer. This offers you the opportunity to be close to what the park has to offer while still being able to travel back and forth to Jackson Hole for other activities or in-town dining.
There are several lodging options, from camper cabins in Colter Bay and historic cottages at Jenny Lake Lodge to a full-service resort at Jackson Lake Lodge to an honest-to-goodness dude ranch, the Triangle X Ranch. And Triangle X is the only lodging open in the park in winter!
Staying lakeside at Signal Mountain Lodge in their cabins, bungalows and lakefront retreats affords easy access watersports.

TIP: Whether staying in a motel or camping, remember that it can be difficult to find a room or tent site during the busiest six to 10 weeks of summer from the first of July to mid-August, so you have to make your reservations for the Grand Teton National Park campgrounds at least six months in advance.

How To Get Around In Jackson Hole
Finally, we must discuss the mode of transportation for a Western road trip. Simply put, a rock solid truck is THE way to travel out West. To save money, we flew into Denver instead of Jackson Hole and turned our vacation into a Western road trip. And oh, what an epic road trip it was thanks to our mode of transportation: a 2018 Nissan Titan.
The Nissan Titan
Between the Sirius XM satellite radio letting us jam out to 80s tunes, Nissan Connect with Navigation , a 5.6-L Endurance V-8 engine, and 4 wheel drive system, I cant imagine touring the Western roads and national parks in anything but this truck.
With two teens, the most important things for them are space and electronics! The Nissan Titan had us covered with a spacious back seat with bountiful leg room and multiple power outlets so no ones phone ran out of juice.
Road Trip Champion
For me, road trips are all about the tunes! So I really appreciated the Sirius XM satellite radio because we drove through spots where radios stations are nonexistent.
One of our strategies when touring the national parks and dude ranching it is purchasing a cooler when we arrive for snacks, food, and drinks. And the Nissan Titan has room for our purchases AND luggage.
All in all, the Nissan Titan was one sweet ride that took on the rugged roads and the 1,300 miles we logged in it like a champ.
