Kleparz is a small, mostly residential and upscale neighborhood located directly north of Old Town. Here you will find Krakóws oldest and most colorful market, Stary Kleparz. Locally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, cheeses and meats are available fresh every day at bargain prices. Other landmarks worth noticing in the area include the gorgeous St. Florian Church and Jan Matejko square.
Still very convenient, Kleparz is a quieter alternative to Stare Miasto.
Hotel Indigo Krakow Old Town Another design hotel with loads of personality, this 4-star features gorgeous brickwork and wood, quirky design touches, and bright and colorful details throughout. Rooms are on the small side, but are quite beautiful and feature free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, bathrobes, and a hairdryer. The hotel has a sauna, fitness centre, an on-site restaurant and a sleek bar with a variety of drinks. St. Florians Gate and the edge of Old Town is at 4-minutes walk and the train station is 5 minutes away.

Once you arrive in Krakow and walk around, you will notice that the city centre isnt all that big. This makes choosing where to stay in Krakow pretty simple as long as you know about the few areas that there are!
We stayed in an apartment right on the border of two main areas we list below . The host was great and although the place sleeps 6 with private rooms, we had the whole apartment to ourselves!
This apartment was about a 15-minute walk to the centre of the Old Town. The whole route there was through historic areas, parks, or along pedestrian malls so we loved doing it each day.

Best Hostel In Stare Miastro: Woodpecker Hostel
This is our favourite hostel in Krakow because it has an excellent location in Old Town. It is within walking distance of the citys top sights as well as restaurants, bars and shops. This modern property offers a variety of free things, like coffee/tea, vegetarian breakfast, lockers, board games and tours.

Known to locals as Stare Miasto, the Old Town is the remnant of an old medieval fort, surrounded by a 3km wall to keep out the invading Tartars in the 13th Century. Built over two centuries, it is an architectural masterpiece and comprises 46 towers and seven different entrances.The main square is the largest in Europe and the Royal Road carves its way through the town, so you can literally follow in the footsteps of past Polish Kings. Kazimierz is a district of the Old Town and has an important cultural past. Here is where the Jewish community settled and the Jewish Cultural Festival is now held here every year to commemorate the complex past of the Jews and Poles native to the neighbourhood.

Ludwinw: Budget Travellers And Sightseers
Ludwinow is a colourful and lively part of Krakow that sits on the banks of the river, opposite the Old Town.
This is the best district for budget travellers who want to be near the action but who dont want to pay the ever-increasing prices of the Old Town.
Ludwinow is incredibly close to the Old Town though, and from the riverbank, you can even see the impressive shape of the Wawel Castle on the opposite side.
This is an up-and-coming part of the city, which means theres plenty to do after youve explored the touristy sites and want to get away from the bustling city centre. There are bars, clubs and plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy in your downtime.
There are lots of hostels here in Ludwinow, and youre just a short walk from the buzzing nightlife of Kazimierz.
