Safe Areas To Stay In La
Hey I was wondering what were the safe areas to stay in LA because this week I have to book my hotel!
LA overall is a pretty safe place! And is one, if not the most diverse city in the world! There are a lot places where you can stay. I went to UCLA, and the area around there is nice. If you want to be near Sunset Blvd where House of Blues or the other hot clubs and restaurants are, stay in the Westside. Like Westwood, Century City, West LA, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Brentwood area. Culver City is also pretty nice. If you want to be by the beach, you can either stay in Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica. Or even look into the South Bay like Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. Hermosa Beach has been a fun hangout lately and attracts a young attractive crowd, especially out on Hermosa Beach Pier. Pasadena is also pretty cool area! Old Town Pasadena has various clubs/restaurants and stores around that area and is a fun hangout on weekends. One thing about LA, it is spreadout, full of diverse neighborhoods, and you really need to have a car to explore. Have a great time!
I live in LA.
I don’t know what your budget is or what you’re looking for.
If you like partying and want the true superficial LA experience, you can stay up on the Sunset Strip-The Standard, The Argyle, The Mondrian, the Hyatt, Sunset Marquis
Stay away from Downtown, LAX, Culver City . Venice is kind of seedy also. Downtown is very dangerous. LAX is close to Inglewood, sometimes questionable.

This hotel is a great deal being situated in West Hollywood and close to everything. It has a minimalist-retro vibe which I appreciate. No frills, but modern, clean and consistent. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional. I didnt have any issues and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The Swingers diner is next door which makes it easy to get breakfast and coffee in the morning. The Farmers Market is walking distance for more eats and shopping. In general the neighborhood is accessible and has great eats close by. I stayed for over a week which made the microwave and refrigerator essential! Overall, the Beverly Laurel is a must-stay. Im glad I tried it out and Ill definitely visit again next time Im in town.

Alright, hear us out first! This mansion definitely isnt one of the affordable accommodations but theres a trick to it. The house sleeps up to 8 people and offers an impressive 3350 sq. ft. , so just split the bill at the end and, boom, youve got luxury for a super cheap price! The rooftop, jacuzzi, incredible location, multiple flat-screen TVs and outdoor BBQ place add to the value of this home as well, but the one thing that really stands out is the quality and cleanliness. Tips For Booking La Jolla Hotels

Hotels in La Jolla, CA are located in basically three neighborhoods: the Village of La Jolla, La Jolla Shores, and Torrey Pines/UCSD.
The neighborhood you choose matters. For example, La Jolla Shores is not really walkable to the Village of La Jolla . Youll also need to drive downhill from Torrey Pines/University of California San Diego to both the Village and La Jolla Shores. There are certainly benefits to staying in each neighborhood and bouncing between them really isnt difficult especially if your hotel offers a shuttle.
La Jolla hotels often price at a premium to other San Diego hotels because the location is so, so desirable . That being said, La Jolla hotels dont always break the bank.
Many hotels in the UTC or Aventine area right off the I-5 freeway classify themselves as La Jolla hotels. While they are SO CLOSE and located on La Jolla Village Drive, they are not inside the La Jolla zip code. Therefore, I havent included any here.

The Best La Neighborhood To Stay In For Families: Hollywood
For many, Hollywood embodies Los Angeles, with its iconic Hollywood sign, movie studios, and entertainment history. A visit to Universal Studios, the Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles Zoo, Paramount Studios, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame will make people of all ages happy. TV show tapings, double-decker tour buses, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and movies with stage shows at the El Capitan Theater are also popular attractions. For nature lovers, a hike in Runyan Canyon or horseback riding in Griffith Park will round out a trip to Hollywood.
What About An Apartment
There is a valid alternative to the classic hotel: renting an apartment. This solution is very much appreciated by those who prefer the advantages and comforts of a real vacation home in Los Angeles. We talked about this option much more extensively in our article dedicated to apartments in Los Angeles.

Grande Colonial La Jolla Hotel
Location: Village of La JollaHotel class: Moderate
Why go: The oldest of hotels in La Jolla, the Grande Colonial Hotel was built in 1913 and is still glamorous. Rates can be a good value considering its prime address on Prospect Street, the main shopping and restaurant district in La Jolla .
Its just a short uphill walk from the Childrens Pool where our famous La Jolla seals are and home to one of my favorite restaurants in town, NINE-TEN .
Hotel amenities:
- Goose down comforters and Serta iComfort Eurotop mattresses
- Complimentary daily passes to La Jolla Sports Club
Good to know: The hotel focuses on Green Initiatives and received the Green Eco-Leaf Rating from iStayGreen. The outdoor pool is a bit small. NINE-TEN has a half-priced bottle of wine nights on Wednesday and supplies the room service menu .
My daughter and I stayed overnight at Grande Colonial several years ago, and Ive meant to check-in again. Weve used the facilities and visited friends there. My Grande Colonial review has some updated information about what its like to stay in La Jolla here. And, its also one of the haunted hotels in San Diego.
Awards: Eco Green-Leaf Rating for On-Site Conservation Efforts, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, AAA Four Diamonds, Booking.com Award of Excellence

We are coming end of January to LA for a week, we have been before, but this time we are coming with our 2 year old son, visiting from the UK. We have no idea where to stay, we want a nice level of luxury, but also a base that is good to travel to the tarpits, the beach, and Disney for one day. Help please!Rebecca
There are always trade-offs with where to stay in L.A. and whats the best location. The Four Seasons is the best luxury hotel for families in the Los Angeles area and only 8 minutes from the tar pits so its probably my top recommendation for you. The kids playroom is very well done, nice pool, and an evening camp fire. The Santa Monica pier is 20 minutes away so not close to the beach, but not too far either. Disneyland is a bit of a trek but since thats only one day its reasonable.
The Beverly Hills Hotel In Beverly Hills
The Beverly Hills Hotel offers large and comfortable suites with one or several bedroom options and more than enough space even for larger groups.
Kids are welcomed with free cookies, and from there they can order from the special kids room service menu of course, room service is available 24/7, and theres access to a pool and shuttle service that offers tours.
Its one of my favorite luxury family hotels in Los Angeles that doesnt get too busy or crowded during peak-months.

Cozy And Private With A Garden View
Its not easy to find a cheap Airbnb in Los Angeles, let alone one thats cheap and good, which is why this private room offered by superhost Miriam is not to be missed. Located in their family home, in suburban Gardena, with plenty of free street parking, this property is a convenient base from which to explore the city.
Even though youre sharing the house with Miriam and her family, this Airbnb offers plenty of space and privacy. The room, which sleeps two people, is a converted covered porch and has pleasant views of the quiet backyard meaning plenty of light. In it is a large and comfortable queen-sized mattress, plus heating and air-conditioning to keep things just right.
Besides your bedroom, youll also have your own private bathroom a few steps out of your bedroom. Guests also have access to the kitchen and backyard, making it hard not to feel at home here.

If your main focus is to soak up some sun, sand, and sea, Santa Monica makes the best base. It’s safe and easy to stroll around, and you can ride the solar-powered ferris wheel at Pacific Park on Santa Monica Pier, bike or jog along The Strand, or shop ’til you drop at the open-air malls.
For beachside luxury, Shutters on the Beach sits smack dab on the sand in Santa Monica and pulls off casual elegance with ease. Staying here feels like vacationing in a stylish family beach house. The rooms come with features like marble bathrooms and white plantation shutters that open up onto balconies fanned by sea breezes. Suites come with fireplaces, and ONE Spa offers specially curated organic treatments.
Directly across the street from the beach, the boutique and eco-conscious Shore Hotel is a more affordable beachside option. It comes with a pool, fitness center, and beautiful beach views. It’s also a short stroll from Santa Monica Pier and the shops and boutiques of Third Street Promenade.
Venice Beach is another popular LA seaside location, with its famous Ocean Front Walk and Muscle Beach, where street performers strut their stuff. A short stroll from these top tourist attractions, the mid-range boutique Hotel Erwin overlooks the iconic boardwalk. Fresh-baked cookies await in the lobby, and the rooftop lounge is a great place to see the sunset. Best of all, the hotel supports community projects, so you can feel good while you stay here.

Final Thoughts On Where To Stay In Granada
Granada is a city full of architectural wonder in Andalusia and is well worth a visit if you are traveling through Europe. The Alhambra is a unique sight and I love getting lost in the small streets of El Albaicin.
As such, El Albaicin is my favourite neighbourhood to stay in Granada, and it boasts amazing views over the fortress and the rest of the city.
My top choice in terms of hotels in Granada is La Casa de la Trinidad. The rooms there have all you need to be comfortable and are welcoming and clean.
If you are looking for backpackers accommodation, El Granado is a super friendly hostel with comfortable beds for the night.
Have I missed anything in this guide? Let me know in the comments! Buen viaje!
While Granada can be very safe, its super important to make sure you get travel insurance!
And dont forget to take out Travel Insurance for your trip! I have been using World Nomads for some time now and made a few claims over the years. Theyre easy to use, professional and relatively affordable. They may also let you buy or extend a policy once youve started your trip and are already abroad which is super handy.
Getting an estimate from World Nomads is simple just click the button or image below, fill out the necessary info, and youre on your way!
