Torrey Is A Lovely Little Farming Community

The Broken Spur Inn & Steakhouse | Hotels & Lodging in Torrey

Torrey is a lovely little farming community. It has several hotels due to its proximity to Capitol Reef. Bryce Canyon is a couples hours away & the Aquarius Plateau is just up the road. We especially enjoyed our dinner at “Hunt And Gather”. Make reservations ahead for any of the restaurants, as the number of tourists seems to exceed available tables currently.

Best Place To Stay In Torrey

I was on my way to Moab but decided to spend a couple of days in Torrey seeing Capitol Reef. I found Austin’s on TripAdvisor and was shocked at the value I received. I booked what I thought was a simple 2 queen room, but it turned out to be a large cabin with 2 queen beds in separate rooms. Plus there was a large central common living room in addition to another room with a full kitchen. Incredible value.

We were very impressed with this motels cleanliness, great customer service, and amenities. We stayed in the inexpensive rooms which had very comfortable beds, and the room was spotlessly clean. We ate breakfast at the deli and bakery each morning. Coffee was free because we were guests, and the burritos were excellent. The grocery store was small but had lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Actually had everything you would need for a long trek in Capitol Reef, and would make you a lunch to take with you. There was a nice laundry on the property if you wanted to do self-laundry.This is the place to stay in Torrey and visit Capitol Reef National Park.

Discover An Independent Spirit In Ogden

If youre looking for an alternative away from the desert landscapes of Southern Utah, Ogden is a fantastic choice. Just north of Salt Lake City, the mid-size town has its own unique character and history. Just look to the bars and restaurants on Historic 25th Street, where Prohibition-era speakeasies ran counter to the Mormon culture that founded the state. Many of the buildings date back even further and now serve as an eclectic hub of locally owned businesses for dining, drinking and shopping.

Surrounded by mountains, Ogden is also close to three ski resorts, which offer a less crowded experience than what youll find in Park City. Snowbasin is the most adventurous option with Olympic-level runs, while Powder Mountain has more acreage than any other ski resort in the United States, with just 1,500 lift passes issued each day. Nordic Valley is more easy going â great for families and beginners â and popular for well-lit night skiing.

If winter sports arent your thing, take the kids to Eccles Dinosaur Park to wander among outdoor recreations of the creatures that once roamed the land.

Sleep In A Wifes Room

The U.S. outlawed polygamy in 1882 but that didnt stop some multi-wife families. At the Mulberry Inn, there is a secret door to the attic where some polygamists were hidden after the law was passed. One such hidden familys patriarch was Benjamin F. Johnson who did have seven wives, hence the recent name of Seven Wives Inn. Today the B& B, renamed the Mulberry Inn, is just 40 miles from Zion National Park. Each of 13 guest spaces is named after a woman.
