In the winter, we went again to check out the skiing/snowboarding scene and had just as much fun. So a tradition was born. We travel to the north shore multiple times a year and are still finding new adventures. We even got engaged next to the falls at Gooseberry! The further north you go, the more adventures youll find. Where to Stay

Im going to say right now- weve always wanted to camp but if you want to reserve a spot, you have to do it a year in advance. Seriously. Its just crazy. So, I would totally recommend camping if you can find it! We typically stay in Two Harbors, MN because thats where all the hiking is. However, we have stayed in town before so Ill include our favorite spot there.

Set along the shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota, Two Harbors has warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Summers can be rainy, but Two Harbors still experiences nearly 200 days of sunshine per year. Summer temperatures usually hover in the mid-70s, but breezes off the lake make it cooler. Winter temperatures can be bitterly cold, usually around 3-5 degrees, made colder from the same lake winds that are so welcome in summer.
