The adjacent bar and grill, built over the water, has live entertainment during the summer. Note that rates can go up to $100 or more during the high season for all of these accommodations.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Ocean City, Md., for the first time. I had never been there before, so I booked a room through AAA for a night. It ended up costing about $200 for the night and it was on the mainland. When I got to Ocean City I saw hundreds of hotels there. Does anyone have any insight on cheap places to stay there?
Ive been to Ocean City, MD many, many times and it is crazy expensive to stay there for a week. Mertle Beach, SC is 1/2 the price for a similar place. Here are some trends. Ocean front is the most expensive. The middle near the road on the bay side is usually cheaper. The lower numbered streets tend to have some of the cheaper properties as this is where the high schoolers tend to stay during senior week. The high rises around 100th street tend to be some of the priciest properties. If you go in the off season prices are cheaper. Everything is up and running in May, June and in September, so those are good times to go if you want it cheaper. Getting a trailer on the bay side Montego Bay 130 street used to be a good deal. They have permanent double wides that are nice for a week stay if you have a family. For short notice you are best off to stay at a hotel in the low numbers on the bay side.
I once spent a weekend in Ocean City, I think we stayed at the Sea Spray Motel. Theyre currently running a three weekday special for $99.

Cheap Alternative To Stay In Ocean City
In a good location. It’s close to a liquor store, wawa and restaurants. Easy drive across the bridge to get to the beach and boardwalk. The room was clean and the pool was standard. We didn’t care for the breakfast. The wifi signal also seemed to be weak. We would stay again. It’s a clean family friendly place that’s not far from the beach and good food.

All of the workers there are super friendly and they really make you feel like family. The owner Isaac always remembers the family members’ names and he does everything he can to make your stay enjoyable. He even left the breakfast open longer so my son who is 1 could come down and eat after his morning nap. They also have a wonderful heated pool that is always clean and refreshing. Honestly, there isn’t a much better place to stay that is affordable and where you get treated so well. My family stayed there for a week and we had no complaints whatsoever.

Oceanfront and ocean-view rooms at the Paradise Plaza Inn on the boardwalk have balconies, microwave ovens and mini-fridges. The property has an outdoor pool, and guests enjoy a few upscale amenities like bottled water and name-brand bath products. The oceanfront Beach Plaza Hotel offers inexpensive rooms without ocean views. As of this writing, an oceanfront room adds $10 to the nightly rate. Rooms have two doubles or one queen-size bed. Tidelands Caribbean offers efficiencies with angled views of the ocean or oceanfront efficiencies for an additional $10. Tidelands has rooftop and ground-floor swimming pools.
