Transport On Our Smaller Islands
Salt Cay and Grand Turk offer a different transport situation due to their smaller island sizes. For those staying overnight, cycling and walking may be a viable option.
On North and Middle Caicos, South Caicos, and Grand Turk, the limited car rental fleets command a premium. Rates for usually start at $75 per day. Taxis, when available, are expensive as well.
Other Islands In The Turks And Caicos
There are several inhabited islands in the Turks and Caicos, and each offers a unique aspect and atmosphere.

Set on nearly five acres of beachfront property on Grace Bay, this luxury resort caters to families with perks like its staffed Caicos Kids Club, children’s swimming pool, and other kid-focused activities.
The accommodation itself is family friendly with lodging in one- to five-bedroom villas that come with gourmet kitchens, so you can cook some meals yourself. Other features include separate living and dining space, Jacuzzi tubs in large bathrooms, and enormous porches with your own BBQ grill. Overall the decor is posh beach contemporary, and even the smallest villas are still a spacious 1,400 square feet.
Other property amenities include direct beach access with sun loungers and umbrellas for guests, two swimming pools, a fitness center, and a spa. There are two restaurants if you want to dine on-site and the location makes the hotel walkable to other dining options on Grace Bay Beach. Finally, all sorts of activities on land and in the ocean can be arranged through the concierge.

Cockburn Harbour Coolest Place To Stay In Turks And Caicos
Cockburn Harbor is a slightly different choice. Its on South Caicos island, which only houses around 900 locals. It was once a hub for regional trade and salt exports, but now it supports itself with tourism and fishing.
Cockburn Harbor is one of the coolest places to stay in Turks and Caicos if you have a more adventurous spirit. You wont find lots of shops and bars on this island, instead, youll find a more poetic experience that puts you closer to nature.
Cockburn Harbor is charmingly laidback, without the bars and restaurants that make other islands so busy. There are only 3 resorts on the island, no casinos, and few water sports businesses. This is hands down one of the best places to stay in Turks and Caicos if you want to experience the Old Caribbean before the developments move in and ruin I mean change it.

What Type Of Accommodation Is Best For You
There are three basic types of accommodations offered on Providenciales: Resorts and hotels, all-inclusive resorts, and rental villas and guesthouses.
The traditional hotel and resort is the most popular option on the island. Resorts tend to be found in the best locations, and complimentary usage of non-powered water sport equipment such as Hobie-Cat sailboats, kayaks and paddle boards is often included for guests.
Many of the larger hotels and all-inclusive resorts also feature a spa, multiple swimming pools, restaurants and bars. In addition, many hotels and resorts include a gym or fitness center, although the amenities offered vary greatly. A few of the Grace Bay resorts include package deals including tee time at the Provo Golf Club.
Most resorts do not offer a shuttle from the airport, and the majority of guests without a rental car typically take a taxi. Taxis are generally readily available, even during peak times when there may quite a few flights arriving.

The Low And High Seasons
Its no secret that the Turks and Caicos experiences regular fluctuations in tourist arrivals throughout the year, as is the case with most destinations. Accommodation and activity rates can be significantly lower during the end of summer and autumn low season than they are in the winter and spring high season months.
In fact, many businesses and accommodations take the opportunity in September and October to close down and renovate and refit.The countrys low season coincides with the height of the Atlantic hurricane season. Generally the weather during this period is excellent , yet the chance of a hurricane or tropical cyclone strike, however slight, does exist.
Theres typically ample warning of an approaching storm, so in our opinion, the determination of whether to visit or not during the hurricane season hinges on if your personal schedule would allow for vacation date change with little warning.

Theres no doubt that Turks and Caicos is a luxury destination. It can be very expensive, running over $10,000 for a week-long stay for a couple. But my husband and I enjoyed this luxury destination for less than $3,000.
Best advice? Fly and stay for cheap. You can save money at many points throughout your trip but your largest savings will be getting cheap flights and avoiding pricey hotels.
Before your book your trip to Turks and Caicos, youll need to decide what type of vacation its going to be. If youre looking to save some money and go on a budget, its absolutely possible.

This is one of our all-time favourite hotels in Turks and Caicos. Its just 15 minutes from the airport and offers a sun deck, private beach, outdoor pool, lounge bar, and a lovely garden. The resort is super-luxurious, offering beautifully-decorated rooms and a whole host of activities to keep everyone entertained.
Club Med Turkoise All
Club Med is the oldest resort still operating in the Turks and Caicos, and the countrys first all-inclusive. This expansive resort was established when there was no other development on Grace Bay, and consequently had the choice of location, resulting in 2000 feet of incredible beach frontage on the calmest section of the world-famous beach.
Club Med is adult-only, and has a wealth of water sports and activities. The rooms and service amenities arent quite up to the standards of some of the other Grace Bay resorts, yet collectively, Club Med is one of the best values in accommodation on Providenciales.
Its also possible to purchase a day pass or evening pass to the resort, so guests staying elsewhere on the island can enjoy the water sports, boat cruises, and bottomless dining and drinks, if only for a day.
Sibonné offers one of the best values in a beachfront Grace Bay resort. This small and quaint hotel doesnt have the most extensive rooms or widest range of amenities, yet can boast of an excellent location on the worlds best beach.
The resort is located on the western side of the Grace Bay region. The shops and restaurants of central Grace Bay are a 20-minute walk away, so most guests will want to rent a car for the duration of their stay.
Onsite at Sibonné is Bay Bistro restaurant, which has been a favorite dining spot for locals and visitors alike for decades.

There are lots of options for activities in Turks and Caicos, ranging from catamaran sunset tours to renting glass-bottom kayaks on the beach.
