Greenwich Village Where To Stay In New York For Nightlife
Culture, historyand nightlife are the reasons travelers choose Greenwich village when they stay in New York. Washington Square Park is one of the few places in the United States where you can find a monumental arch, and it is also home to historic landmarks such as the Blue Note Jazz Club, the Stonewall Inn, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the expansive New York University campus.
There are not many places to stay in this district for this reason, booking a room can be tricky during music and film festivals as well as special exhibits at the Whitney. Long-term stays at temporary rental apartments may be a better bet, but they can also be expensive.
Here are a few hotel options in and around Greenwich Village

Where To Stay In Harlem
The most famous black community in America, Harlem has not been spared New York Citys rapid gentrification, but it remains a bastion of African-American culture, with a vibrant street life, fabulous West African and soul food restaurants, a dynamic local jazz scene and some of the prettiest streets in the city.
Best for guesthouse vibes: Soul Food
Elegant 19th-century brownstone, just across from Marcus Garvey Park, with shared kitchen and freshly baked cakes every day.
Best for an apartment stay: The Harlem Pearl
Small apartments with kitchenettes, in a lovely building, that dates from 1910, in the Sugar Hill neighbourhood.

Best Places To Stay In New York City For Families With Kids
If youre visiting New York City with the kids, where to stay becomes less about attractions and more about safety. With that said, we highly recommend Central Park, especially the areas around Upper East Side and Upper West Side, which are much quieter.
Any of the more residential areas would also be a consideration, such as Chelsea or Greenwich Village.
Places to avoid would be the loud party places like Meatpacking District and Lower East Side.

Hotel selection here is of a very high quality and standard. Dozens of highly rated hotels whittled down into the top 3 from each price point.
We would suggest either staying at a budget or luxury hotel in this category. The difference in quality between budget and mid-range is minimal, plus Park Terrace and Archer are very affordable in the luxury bracket.
Top tip: The Archer Hotel has a king room with direct views of nearby Empire State Building.

Soho And Tribeca Where To Stay In New York For Shopping And Classy Restaurants
You have probably heard about Manhattans various upscale neighborhoods, and this is certainly the case with the areas South of Houston and the Triangle Below Canal Street, more commonly known as Soho and Tribeca.
Quite a few television and film celebrities have lived in this district for many years, and you should not be surprised if you run into a celebrity if you choose this district when you stay in New York.
Art galleries, museums, classy restaurants, chic bars, and very expensive boutiques are among the highlights of Soho and Tribeca. Many visitors say that this part of Lower Manhattan feels like it has been transplanted from a luxury city neighborhood in Europe.
Lodging recommendation for Soho and Tribeca include:
Upscale:The Dominick Hotel is for travelers with ample budgets. Aside from being very aesthetic, this hotel offers four restaurants and a spa. The upper levels of The Dominick have floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of the Hudson River and part of the skyline.
Mid-Range:Sohotel is very close to the Little Italy restaurant district, and it is often chosen by visitors who want to experience great dining when they stay in New York. Even though this is a reasonably priced hotel, it offers 24-hour concierge service because that is what you would expect from a Soho property.

Brooklyn A Place To Stay Near Manhattan Nyc
Brooklyn is another very popular district to stay in New York. Also, fun fact, its where Barbra Streisand, Eddie Murphy, Cyndi Lauper, Jennifer Connelly, and Woody Allen were born.
9. Brooklyn, a place to stay near Manhattan, NYC
We stayed here once, but we regretted it, since we chose an area that had no subway nearby and it was very difficult to get to Manhattan. We had to take a bus that only came every half hour and was expensive. However, there are areas in Brooklyn that are very well connected to public transport and from which youll have no problem getting to Manhattan.
Below, Ill explain which are the best areas to stay in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Heights& DUMBO, the best place to stay in Brooklyn
Brooklyn Heights is a very quiet area, full of residential streets and low buildings. DUMBO, meanwhile, is a neighborhood where artists and bohemians settled, who then turned the area into a place full of modern cultural and local movements.
If you decide to stay here, youll have amazing views of the skyline and you can get to Manhattan after a beautiful walk on the famous Brooklyn Bridge. For all this, I think its an area to sleep in New York thats worth checking out.
These are the hotels in New York that I recommend in Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO:
- Low-cost option: Sheraton Brooklyn New York
Brooklyn Best Place To Stay In New York Outside Manhattan
As the most populous borough of New York City, Brooklyn has only recently gotten into the tourism industry thanks to the development of districts such as Williamsburg and Greenpoint, which have become extremely trendy hotspots.
Thanks to this transformation, new tourism attractions and hotels have been created for the convenience of visitors. Even though Brooklyn should by all means be more affordable than Manhattan, which is just across the river taking the pedestrian bridge, the trendy status of the borough can make it a bit pricey.
Here are some hotels you may want to evaluate when staying in Brooklyn:
Upscale:The William Vale is an amazing work of architecture located in Williamsburg. Ever since it was completed a few years ago, it has been attracting celebrity guests thanks to luxury amenities such as balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, a swimming pool, and rainfall showers. The three restaurants in this hotel are managed by award-winning chefs.
Mid-Range:Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott New York Brooklyn offers everything you should expect from a Marriott property at very reasonable prices and with a Brooklyn flair. Highly recommended to couples and families.
Budget: The International Students Residences is a hostel that has been remodeled to match the architecture and style of Williamsburg. Getting to Times Square from this hostel takes about 20 minutes.

Cheap Accommodation In New Jersey
New Jersey is another state, but is located right across from Manhattan on the other side of the Hudson River.
Jersey City is right across from Manhattan and especially the hotels right at the water habe a beautiful view of the Manhattan Skyline. However, the hotel prices are not cheaper than in Manhattan, simply because you can get there pretty fast by subway.
If you really want to save money, you should look at the hotels in Newark. They dont offer a view on Manhattan, since Newark is located a little further outside, but a good room costs between 100 and 150 euros.
You should definitely book a hotel close to the Newark Penn Station. With the red PATH Train Line you will need 22 minutes to the World Trade Center. A one way ticket costs $ 2,75 .
Pros of staying in Newark:
- You get more for your money than in Manhattan
- If you land in Newark, you are closer to the airport
Cons of staying in Newark:
- You will need 20 to 30 minutes to get to Manhattan
- You dont have a view on the skyline, so you dont get that authentic New York feel
Our personal hotel recommendations for Newark:
Element Harrison-Newark Directly at the PATH station Harrison

Chic Designer Home Guest Studio
This is another cute studio thats great value for money if youre looking for affordable vacation rentals in New York City. Found in the residential neighborhood of Forest Hills in Queens, this is a safe and convenient part of the city which is particularly close to factory outlets and two major shopping centers.
Thanks to its small size, this Airbnb is ideal for tourists who dont plan on spending much time in their accommodation or dont need much space. The studio features one full-sized bed that makes this place best suited to couples. Despite the limited space, theres also a small living area with a couch and coffee table for you to watch the 4K TV or read a book.
Unlike some studios this size, this apartment does come with its own kitchenette. In the kitchenette youll find a fridge, microwave, and portable cooktop to prepare meals with, as well as some complimentary drinks and snacks. Other modern conveniences include access to free laundry facilities provided by superhost Maggie who lives upstairs, self-check in, and Wi-Fi.
Safety Whats The Safest Neighborhood
A quick note on safety. New York has a reputation as a fairly unsafe city. This is a historical reputation that today is completely unfounded. The advice we once received was always carry enough cash to satisfy a mugger. Nowadays all we would advise is to carry enough cash to satisfy a hot dog vendor! Any Neighbourhood I suggest is safe at pretty much all hours.
During the Late 90s early 2000s the City underwent gentrification. Prices soared and the poor were forced out as hordes of affluent rich Americans poured in. There are still the rougher areas but even the worst NO-GO areas of the past are not what they once were. We remember recently standing in Brooklyn, at night, with $3000 worth of camera equipment dressed as complete tourists. 20 years ago we would have been dead, today the only folk around were other photographers.
Like all Citys nowhere is 100% safe. But basic precautions are all thats needed. Travel safe and smart. The main issues now are Scams but these will only relieve you of a few $. Pickpockets are an issue but even these are rare. Homelessness is a problem, like in a lot of America but on the whole, they leave tourists alone. If you stick to the well-worn tourist districts, New York is now probably one of the safest places you will ever visit. For one thing, the City is so bustling and busy you are rarely alone for a moment to allow for anything untoward to happen!

This hotel is unique as it lays equal emphasis on being parent friendly, kid friendly, as well as pet friendly, for times when you are traveling with your furry family members.
While the little ones get a welcome gift when you check-in, parents can request cribs, get complimentary bikes or yoga mats, enjoy the nightly wine receptions offered by the property, or simply go sweat it out at the gym.
You can also avail of the hotels babysitting services.

Best Cheap Mid Budget And Luxury Hotels Near Central Park New York City
Central Park hotels are abundant but do tend to span the higher price point bracket. A budget hotel around Central Park could cost more than a Mid Range hotel in Times Square.
We stayed at 1 Central Hotel and it was fantastic. The materials of wood with wrought iron were elegant and relaxing. It reminded us of when we stayed in traditional Ryokans in Japan.
The Whitby Hotel has a 9.5 rating, which is the joint highest Booking.com rating in New York City . We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea in the Whitby Hotel bar area.
