Downtown Best Place To Stay In La For Nightlife
Are you a night owl? A party animal that wants to experience all the cool nightlife spots in Los Angeles? Then the Downtown area is the right place for you!
Downtown LA is the heart and soul of Los Angeles and the main spot for people interested in culture and business as well. There is always something exciting happening here as well, regardless of whether were talking about a cool concert, a crazy party, or a street performance.
Although Downtown Los Angeles is generally safe, especially during the day, I wouldnt recommend it to families, as walking there at night might get uncomfortable due to the number of unsheltered people around the area.
Downtown LA is also very walkable, so one of the first things youll do while youre here is to take a stroll on the beautiful streets and admire everything that this awesome neighborhood has to offer. While youre here, you can also visit the Museum of Contemporary Art , Chinatown, the Microsoft Theatre and the Disney concert hall, the Grammy Museum and more.

Where Not To Stay In Los Angeles
Most of L.A. is just as safe as any other big city in the world. There are of course some dangerous neighborhoods. But as a tourist, you wont be going there anyway, so there is no point in mentioning them here. However, there are a few places in L.A. that are OK to visit during the day time, but are definitely not safe enough to stay or to walk around after dark.
Make Time For Traffic
The layout of LA, combined with inadequate public transportation, makes having a car a must for any local, though visitors may well be more comfortable utilizing rideshares. Anyone who is not very comfortable behind the wheel will have a much more relaxing trip this way. In addition to being tricky to navigate, freeways can be nerve-wracking for new or nervous drivers.
Regardless of who is driving, expect to spend some time in traffic. This is unavoidable unless you are exclusively dedicated to one specific area. For example, if youre dedicating a weekend to just Hollywood, you may not need a car at all.

Where To Stay In South Bay
Head south of LAX and youll come to an eight-mile strip of enticing beach towns Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, part of the region known as the South Bay which are quieter, smaller and more insular than the Westside beach communities.
Manhattan Beach is a likeable place with a healthy, well-to-do air. Hermosa Beach retains a lingering bohemian feel of the Sixties and Seventies in certain spots. Redondo Beach is less inviting than its relaxed neighbours with condos and hotels lining the beachfront, and the yacht-lined Kings Harbor off limits to curious visitors.

Best Place To Stay In Los Angeles
Hi I am visiting Los Angeles in September for 4nights . I wont have a car and there are 2 females travelling. Im just wondering where would be the best place/area to stay that would be central and safe. We want to do mainly touristy things, the Hollywood sign, universal studios, maybe a bus trip etc. thanks

What is your budget per night for a hotel? Generally, Hollywood has the lowest rates, but areas like the The Grove are central and you can use Uber to get around. Be sure to have a mobile plan for your phone so you can use Uber, since you won’t have a car.
Thanks for this, Ive put it in the LA forum too our budget would be probably about $150-200 per night
That budget is too low for Los Angeles – you have to consider taxes and resort fees , and the lowest budget hotel starts at about $200/night. Get an app like Hotel Tonight and start looking at rates, but don’t use it to book unless it’s got a generous cancelations policy.
