The Rooms At The St Regis Atlanta
I walked into my room and everything was prepared perfectly. The lights were on across the room, my large 65 TV was welcoming me, and there was classical music playing from my tablet control center on the nightstand. There was a welcome gift on the table by the window, and I literally said out loud Damn, this is nice!
My room at the St. Regis.
The rooms at the St. Regis Atlanta, or at least my Superior room, is understated, featuring a lot of neutral tones. Theres very little art on the walls, but the live orchid made for a nice pop of color.
My room featured a comfortable couch, two ottomans, and a table by the window.
This couch was more comfortable than I expected it to be. And got more use than I expected it to when I found an Oregon Duck football game on
Considering I was planning to spend a lot of my stay in my room working, I was a little disappointed to not have a dedicated desk but the table ended up being fantastic and the chairs were much more ergonomically friendly than Id expected.
On this trip I stayed in beds at the St. Regis, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton.
The Ritz has the softest beds. Its the one that you just melt into as soon as you climb in. But I honestly found the St. Regis beds to be the most well-balanced and enjoyable to sleep on. They werent too soft, which the Ritz beds kind of started to feel like after a few days.
But obviously, with any hotel of this level the beds are going to be phenomenal, so no surprises here.

Motor In To The Clermont For Legendary Urban Charm
Providing a clue to its storied past, Hotel Clermont still has the old green neon sign out front proclaiming it a Motor Hotel. The Clermont is the stuff of legend in Atlanta. Long before it was reborn in 2018 as a trendy lifestyle hotel, it seemed straight out of a mid-century noir pulp fiction novel, the type of place where gruff private eyes might hole-up on stakeouts with ladies of the night.
Located on Ponce de Leon Avenue, itself a once-seedy stretch now lined with hip shopping and dining options, the decadence has given way to authentic urban charm.
After a painstaking renovation process, that kept the buildings historic character, the Clermont no longer rents rooms by the hour. Locals were happy, though, that the Clermont Lounge remained in the basement untouched. The Clermont Lounge is a strip club that defies description, though many have tried. When Anthony Bourdain visited with Alton Brown for an episode of Parts Unknown he declared the place should be a National Historic Landmark. Its the kind of strip club/dive bar you can take a date to, and if your dates impressed, you know there will be a second date.

Best Area To Stay: Midtown
Midtown is the best area to stay in Atlanta for being home to important cultural attractions such as the High Museum of Art, the Museum of Design Atlanta and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, the author of the famous 1936 novel Gone with the Wind.
It is in the Midtown that the gay area of Atlanta is located, with pubs and club for the LGBT community that, combined with the comedy bars and theaters of Peachtree Street, make this district one of the liveliest in the city.
This area has a very central location but without the chaos, hustle, and bustle there may be in Downtown Atlanta. In addition, it is very close to attractions such as the Botanical Garden or Piedmont Park and has MARTA stations that make it easier to move to other districts or neighborhoods.
While it is true that accommodation in the Midtown Atlanta is not exactly the cheapest, the area has hotels of all kinds, so you can find good deals if you look well in advance.
Midtown is also one of the best areas to stay in Atlanta for shopping, as there are department stores and boutiques scattered throughout the district.
