How To Stay In Los Angeles For Cheap

Where To Stay In Hollywood

CHEAPEST Place to Stay in Los Angeles – $30 per night!!!

Ever since movies and their stars became international symbols of the good life, Hollywood has been a magnet to millions of tourists and an equal number of hopefuls drawn by the prospect of riches and glory.

In reality, this was a densely populated, low-income residential neighbourhood, and movie stars actually spent little time here leaving as soon as they could afford to for the privacy of the hills or coast.

Things have brightened up in the past few years, with the construction of new tourist plazas and shopping malls. The contrasting qualities of freshly polished nostalgia, corporate hype and deep-set seediness today make Hollywood one of LAs most diverse areas and one of its best spots for bar-hopping and clubbing.

Best for a quirky stay: Hollywood Bed & BreakfastThis B& B is set in a 1912 home that looks a little like something out of a Dr. Seuss book. It’s close to all the action with four cosy rooms and a small pool.

Best for modern simplicity:Magic Castle Hotel

Justly popular hotel boasting rooms and suites in a neat, modern style with heated pool and free soda, candy and cookies 24 hours a day.

Downtown La Where To Stay In Los Angeles For Nightlife

Are you a night owl? A party animal that wants to experience all the cool nightlife spots in Los Angeles? Then the Downtown area is the right place for you!

Downtown LA is the heart and soul of Los Angeles and the main spot for people interested in culture and business as well. There is always something exciting happening here as well, regardless if were talking about a cool concert, a crazy party or a street performance.

Although Downtown Los Angeles is generally safe, especially during the day, I wouldnt recommend it to families, as walking there at night might get uncomfortable due to the number of unsheltered people around the area.

Downtown LA is also very walkable, so one of the first things youll do while youre here is to take a stroll on the beautiful streets and admire everything that this awesome neighborhood has to offer. While youre here, you can also visit the Museum of Contemporary Art , Chinatown, the Microsoft Theatre and the Disney concert hall, the Grammy Museum and more.

West Hollywood Great For Nightlife

Home of the Sunset Strip and Chateau Marmont, West Hollywood is the playground for celebrities and paparazzi looking for excitement from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose. In fact, you can consider West Hollywood the nightlife epicenter of Los Angeles.

West Hollywoods prestige is largely owned to the fact that its bounded by Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills.

The list of celebrity hangouts and beautiful attractions located within West Hollywood include the Comedy Store, Sierra Towers and Saint Victor Catholic Church. You can also fit in some shopping at the world-class West Hollywood Gateway Project.

It can be a real treat to explore the neighborhoods of Fountain Avenue, Harper Avenue and Havenhurst Drive to enjoy Spanish Revival and Art Deco homes designed by famous architects from the 1920s.

These leafy streets have been called home by stars and legends like Frank Sinatra, John Wane, the Gabor sisters, Howard Hughes and many more.

One of the big advantages of staying in West Hollywood is that it is one of the most walkable portions of Los Angeles. In fact, locals refer to the area asWalkable WeHo.

When looking for public transit, West Hollywoods Cityline and PickUp Line are great options for getting to hot spots or stops on the Metro Red Line.

Granted, thats not as much as, say, San Francisco, where youll pay about $300, or New York, which can run $330, but it can add up to a big chunk of change.

In June and July, I explored three budget-friendly places across Los Angeles, chosen for the variety of experiences. I spent time with the people who run them and stayed at them to get a sense of what you can get for $100 or less in L.A. Here is what I found.

Hostels, where people share rooms with strangers, are a classic low-budget option.

Hostelling International is a chain, and its Santa Monica lodging can accommodate up to 273 guests a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier.

Youll encounter a global crowd here, and pub crawls and movie nights make introductions to your travel mates easy.

Where To Stay In Los Angeles: Best Areas & Hotels

Last updated on September 23, 2021 in California, Hotels

The second most populous city in the United States, after New York City, Los Angeles is the unofficial capital city of the West Coast. Claimed by the Spanish in 1542 but not settled until the late 18th century, Los Angeles passed into American hands just over 170 years ago and grew exponentially from then onwards.

Particularly after the beginning of the 20th century, the start of the US film industry in Hollywood, the fame and fortunes of Los Angeles increased even more. Even the Hollywood Sign in the hills north of Hollywood is famous. And thats just one part of Los Angeles.

Elsewhere, aside from the affluent homes, celebrities hand and footprints, and famous faces lurking around town, the greater Los Angeles area is a fascinating and frenetic city to explore. Head west, and youll get to the Pacific Coast itself. Famous beaches at Santa Monica and Venice make for a simultaneously lively yet laid-back place to discover.
