There are quite a few options out on Mount Pleasant, from chain hotels to places to stay on Airbnb. Quite a few of the hotels are right next to the Ravenel bridge. Getting downtown is easy from them, as well as accessing all the best things to do in Mount Pleasant, SC, like Boone Hall Plantation. These are also less expensive than almost everything downtown. Theyre generally not as inexpensive as the next location on our list, though.

No, really, he did. Maybe not in the George Washington suite of the John Rutledge House Inn but in a private home along Charleston’s famed Battery.* Today’s explorers can sleep in homes built or owned by key figures in the city’s history, even if not in the same room or house as the first president.
The city also offers a range of options from $100 a night at national chains near the interstate, airport and the North Charleston Coliseum to more moderately priced rooms in historic homes and inns, and high-end rooms , suites in the central historic district or whole houses along the beaches.
Once your location is determined, you can stay in historic inns, B& Bs decorated in antebellum glory or the most modern luxury hotels available with spa treatments, personal concierges and fine dining.
What you choose depends on what you want to do during your visit.
For a beach-focused visit, check out local real estate companies, such as Kiawah Island Real Estate, Vacasa Property Management in Folly Beach or the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms. Where To Stay In Charleston Sc
With its gorgeous palm-lined streets, antebellum architecture, historic churches, world-class restaurants, and sub-tropical climate, Charleston has morphed into one of Americas top destinations in the last few decades. The city is home to some major sights, including Fort Sumter, notorious as the place where the Civil War started in 1861, but its really the historic and romantic ambience that proves to be the biggest draw. Its not cheap the city boasts some of the countrys most luxurious hotels, boutiques, and B& Bs, with prices to match, though the good news is that the surrounding districts are packed with budget motels.
Indeed, Charleston has one of the highest number of hotels proportionate to population of any city. However, theres a huge difference in price when it comes to location anything in Downtown Charleston, where everyone ideally wants to stay, costs at least double the average motel in the districts beyond the Peninsula.
This is likely the biggest decision for every visitor: cough up to enjoy the atmosphere and convenience Downtown, or save money in West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, or North Charleston, and rely on a vehicle to get around. Staying at one of Charlestons nearby beach districts can be fun, but is really a different sort of holiday one focused on sand and relaxation none of the beaches are especially convenient for city sightseeing.
Charleston International Airport is only 12 miles north of Downtown, off I-526 and the I-26 corridor.
