Where To Stay For Foodies: Koreatown

- MID-RANGE: H Hotel The H is smack in the center of the Koreatown action. Rooms have all the usual suspects: smart TVs, WiFi, above-average products in the bathrooms. The in-house H Café serves pretty good Korean staples.
- LUXURY: The LINE Hotel Opened in 2014 and arguably the hippest hotel in Los Angeles, The LINE was one of the main reasons for Koreatowns renaissance. The 388 rooms here are on the minimalist side but are spacious and comfortable. On Sunday partake in the free Tai Chi classes or take out a hotel bicycle for a spin. The minibars include Korean snacks.

Neighborhoods Where Not To Stay In Los Angeles
Although Los Angeles is one of the most prestigious cities in the US, its not 100% safe. Violent robberies, drug use, and fighting are common in some areas of the city.
Below, well mention some areas to avoid in Los Angeles, although, first, Id like to remind you of the importance of buying proper travel insurance for the USA. In addition to preventing any problems if you experience a theft, youll be covered against any medical expenses that may arise during the trip. The healthcare in the United States is so costly that visiting this country without buying insurance is too risky.

Los Angeles Is Definitely Not What The Movies Make It Out To
Los Angeles is definitely not what the movies make it out to be, every traveller I came across could not help but mention the homeless situation of the city. Despite saying this certain parts of Los Angeles were beautiful, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Runyon Canyon and Santa Monica. The metro although quick and easy to use just did not feel as safe as London or New York. If you intend to see Hollywood Blvd, stick to daytime and the main part near the Dolby Theatre . Loads of places to eat as well Hard Rock cafe, IHOP, and loads of individual restaurants – more expensive than I anticipated though. Must see place if you love diversity of mountains, city and beach all in one large location. My personal favourites were Runyon Canyon, Universal studios and Santa Monica Beach.

Hotels Vs Vacation Rentals In Los Angeles: Which To Choose
One thing I do want to touch on is vacation rentals in LA.
If you didnt already know, Los Angeles is in the midst of a full-fledged housing crisis, and while I wouldnt point to vacation rentals as the primary cause, theyre certainly a contributing factor.
I have mixed feelings about staying in vacation rentals in cities.
On one hand, as a traveler who has Celiac Disease and usually needs access to a kitchen, they are a godsend that has allowed me to travel to places that just would not have been easy to visit if I had to stay in a hotel, where I MIGHT get a mini-fridge.
On the other hand, in cities where theres a housing crisis driven by a lack of supply and surging demand , vacation rentals contributes to the problem by taking long term rental units off the market, since the landlord can usually make more money by renting it out for a weekend at a time.
There are certainly pros and cons to staying in vacation rentals. To be a responsible traveler in LA, our recommendation would be to choose hotels in Los Angeles. There are tons of great hotels, so youll have no problem finding an amazing place to stay.

Another option to stay in Los Angeles, if youre flying late or early in the morning, is the area near the airport. For example, you can visit the Flight Path Museum & Learning Center, where youll see models of historic airplanes and The Space Exploration Gallery.

Where To Stay In Los Angeles Ca: Best Hotels And Neighborhoods
When youre heading to Los Angeles, the odds are good that youre not just looking to stay in downtown LA. There are so many attractions and places to stay beyond LA proper, such as Hollywood or Santa Monica. The laid-back vibes in Santa Monica are ideal for those who just need a few days at the beach, but Hollywood is the place to be if youre into celebrity sightings, fitness, and the latest wellness trends.
Traffic in LA is notoriously difficult, so youll want to pick your hotel based on where you plan to spend the most time. Getting from the LAX airport to downtown LA at the wrong time of day can set you back at least an hour or so, even though its barely 20 miles away. However, heading to the beach from downtown Los Angeles is worth the trek for a day.
