Place To Stay Near Aquarium
My family is wanting to go to the Georgia aquarium this summer. We have a 2 year old. Is there a good place to stay near there that isn’t extravagantly expensive?
There are many options. You can run a search on this forum for hotels near aquarium, GWCC, Georgia Dome, Phillips arena and will see tons of discussions on this frequently asked topic.
See here for a map of the area that shows the location of downtown hotels:
Using priceline, we’ve stayed at the in Downtown for $85 a night, I’ve seen others get better prices than that. This hotel is not right next to the aquarium, but a short cab ride or even a nice walk if the weather is nice. The hotel had a nice pool area that would be fun with a 2 year old. While you are there, there is also Centennial Park with a children’s play area and picnic area as well as Imagine It! Children’s Museum one block from the aquarium. I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old, we live about 30 minutes from the city and frequent that area often with all of the activities! Lots of fun!
If you can’t find a decent rate downtown, consider staying in Midtown, Buckhead, or even Perimeter . MARTA is a great way to get around Atlanta, and it has stations within walking distance of most hotels in these neighborhoods. Oh, and your 2 year old will love riding the “trains”.
