The Apartment Was Cosy With A Mezzanine With 2 Queen Beds
The apartment was cosy with a mezzanine with 2 queen beds and a separate bedroom. Lovely open fire. Bathrooms a little small but fine. Kitchen area very dated and minimalist! Only soft seating for 4 people was on an old uncomfortable sofa bed. The hot water tank was noisy. Hot tub great. The staff were superb. We enjoyed it but dont expect luxury.

Head to Lundbreck, Alberta where you can stay at Sierra West Ranch, a working cattle ranch. Shack up in a log cabin for a true home on the range feel for a couple of nights. Though theres definitely a rustic feel, these cabins have all the modern amenities you could hope for after a day of horseback riding, cattle driving, and cooking on an open fire.

Juniper Hotel Mount Norquay
Our room at the Juniper Hotel was to die for with whirlpool bath, a wood-burning fireplace, and leather couch propped in front of a big-screen TV. But its the outdoor hot tub looking at the striking Rocky Mountain view that sticks with us.
Juniper sits at the foot of Mount Norquay making it the perfect getaway for families wanting to ski nearby. Theres a trail leading into the woods from the hotel that we took a great little hike on spying a family of deer, and the Juniper Bistro offers delicious home-cooked meals straight from the farm to table. Spot Wildlife In Banff National Park
Great skiing, hiking, and outdoor activities are not the only things that Banff is famous for. A lot of people flock to the park to catch a glimpse of its abundant wildlife.
You are almost guaranteed to see deer wandering around the town of Banff itself, but if you are looking for the best wildlife experiences we suggest heading into the park to have the best chance of wildlife sightings. Now, this is not a zoo and the animals are not just waiting for you to arrive, but the more time you spend in the park the better your chances of seeing some of the more elusive animals. Grizzly bears, wolves, and cougars are all in the park and you be able to see one if you are lucky and patient.
Please remember that these are wild animals and never approach them or get out of your car for a closer look. If you are quiet, give them plenty of space and just observe you can often have a wildlife viewing you will remember for the rest of your life.

Comforts Of Home In The Majestic Canadian Rockies
I like having the comforts of home while away, kitchen, proper living space and the condos at Rocky Mountain Resorts checked off all the boxes. Becky the concierge was incredible, went above and beyond to ensure our pup was comfy which helped make our stay easy. The shuttle to downtown is so easy and the trails were literally out our steps, which us and the furry monster really appreciated.
Stay In A Back Country Lodge
If you ever make it to the Rocky Mountains, you must make sure to go to a backcountry lodge. This is the epitome of things to do in Banff in winter. Why? Because it is where you completely get away from it all. Dont fret too much about bears or cougars in the winter.
For the most part, theyre hibernating and if you are a party of two or three, theyll be more afraid of you than you are of them. Imagine sitting in a log cabin heated by a wood-burning stove as the snow falls around you outside.
That is pure heaven. Sundance Lodge has an executive chef, hot water for showers, solar power, and cozy bedrooms. This is where luxury meets rustic living and if you go home and tell everyone that you trekked 16km into the Rocky Mountains to stay at a lodge, you will be the hero of all your friends. You can get to the Banff Alberta Back Country by snowshoeing or cross country skiing.

A Word On These Best Hotels In Banff
Book in Advance: If you are planning your trip to Banff between mid-June to late September, and around the holidays you should book your Banff hotels in advance. How far in advance? At least three months, but I would say six months for the more desirable places like the Banff Springs and Emerald Lake Lodge.
Shop Around: Unless you are dying to stay at a particular property you should do some price shopping. Many of the hotels on Banff Ave are comparable and competitive with rates, and they all offer that same amazing location.
Consider Staying Outside of Banff: If you are on a budget you can find better deals outside of Banff. Take a look at nearby Canmore, which is slightly better value, or if you dont mind driving you can even look in Calgary or Golden, BC.
Hopefully this helped you determine which of these Banff hotels is right for you.
