Places To Stay In Boise Idaho

Hampton Inn By Hilton

Favorite Places in Boise Idaho | Travel Guide

The Hampton Inn by Hilton can be considered one of the first in the downtown Boise hotel renaissance. Before the Hampton Inn was built, The Grove Hotel was really the only high-rise hotel in downtown Boise.

I am personally a huge fan of Hampton Inns I have never had a bad experience with them, they are Hilton properties, and they are generally less expensive than most comparable hotels. The downtown Boise Hampton Inn is no different. It is a quality hotel, and you really cant ask for a better location.

They have parking on-site and you are located in the BoDo district.

Don’t Miss These Downtown Shops:

All About Games This place has a huge selection of quirky board games a refreshing concept in the days of XBox. If you’re not ready to buy, you can rent a number of games for $3 per night . When we visited, the store was having a special game night, and we ended up being drawn into a very girly version of what I imagine Dungeons and Dragons to be like.

Record Exchange The three-decades-old independent music store has a hefty selection of vinyl, Boise-specific goods, and all the details you’ll need to stay updated on Boise’s music scene.

For cocktail hour, head to Fork, where I ordered Thyme for Bourbon . Stacey and I also indulged in their Northwest Cheese Plank, featuring a selection of cheeses, stone fruit, spiced pecans, and honey all local. Pretty much heaven.

For dinner, it’s a short walk to The Dish, where they show off their creativity with a blueberry prawn and waffle dish. Stacey’s go-to is the brie burger made with local beef, balsamic onion marmalade, and truffle aioli.

Take A Sunrise Hike To Table Rock

So a little back story first. When Berty and I Craters Of The Moon National Monument, we met someone via Instagram named BK who lived and traveled in Idaho.

As we planned out our hike to Table Rock, we knew we wanted to finally meet him in person! BK is a jack of all trades videography, photography, and rock climbing to name only a few.

Hiking Table Rock with BK was a great opportunity to get to know him and learn more about what he recommends for fun things to do in Boise.

Table Rock is a 3.7-mile loop trail just outside of Boise, Idaho. From the top, you can experience views of the city! The trail is fairly easy, with a steady incline.

The dusty trail takes you though the foothills on Boise, and from the topb you can see the curves and ripples of the earth!

The Worlds Only Giant Idaho Potato Home

15 beautiful places to visit in Idaho

If youre looking for a truly one-of-a-kind place to stay, the Big Idaho Potato Hotel is by far the most unique Airbnb in Boise! Shaped like the hearty crop that the state of Idaho is known for, the Giant Idaho Potato Home is unlike any other Airbnb not just in Boise, but in the world.

Once a part of an Idaho potato marketing campaign known as the Big Idaho Potato Tour, this giant potato crisscrossed the continental United States promoting, you guessed it, potatoes! Now, it has been renovated into a surprisingly chic and intimate Airbnb just south of Boise.

While the exterior of the Big Idaho Potato Hotel looks like a potato, the inside is a contemporary gem with a custom hardwood floor, plush rose-colored chairs, blooming plants, and a cozy bed. The entire Airbnb is just one room, but there is a surprisingly luxurious bathroom just outside of the potato in a converted grain silo.

If youre looking for a little peace and quiet, this potato-shaped home may be perfect for you. As an added bonus, your neighbor is a lovable Jersey cow named Dolly who will certainly be your new friend.

The Giant Idaho Potato Home is ~30 minutes south of Boise and is surrounded by acres of peaceful farmland. And while its not technically in Boise, we think this is one Airbnb that you simply must spend a night in during your visit!

The Red Lion has meeting spaces, and the best part is on many occasions, it will be the least expensive of all hotels on this list. Although they are a Red Lion, they were recently purchased by Marriott and will be undergoing a full renovation soon.

If we missed a Boise hotel here, it doesnt mean its not great, it just means we have yet to stay there. Please comment with your favorites though! Wed love to hear your tips.

Drink Your Way Through Wine Country

5 Best Places to Visit in Idaho

When we explain to people that we went to visit wineries in Idaho, their first reaction is What? Idaho has a wine country? And we swiftly answer

Yep, and it was beautiful.

Berty and I were lucky enough to spend a whole day here in the Snake River Valley and experience four spectacular wineries.

This unique area in Idaho has perfect conditions for growing exceptional grapes.

Cold nights and hot days balance out the sugars, proximity to the river allows growers to control water intake, and high elevation provides the grapes with complex flavors and unique tastes.
