Places To Stay In Deadwood Area
We planned to travel up to the Deadwood area for 2 nights after 5 nights in Hill City in early September … 2 adult couples … any recommendations? Looks tough to find a decently priced location – nonsmoking is essential.
How about
The Lodge at Deadwood is the only property that I’m aware of is which contains entirely non-smoking rooms.
However, there is smoking allowed on the casino floor in certain parts.
It’s the newest out there and people obviously like it, but the only drawback is that it’s not located on main street.
I believe the trolley does stop there as well and the hotel offers free shuttle service .
I would not recommend Deadwood Dicks unless you get a good price there. It’s an older building so therefore poor ventilation.
Have you tried some other properties on main street?
The Hampton Inn takes AAA/AARP and offers 10% discounts for military, etc… They are usually not booked as frequently as the other hotels on main.
You could also try the Penny Motel for a cheap place to stay, it is several blocks away and the trolley stops there as well.

From the website, there are only 12 rooms, no elevator but all rooms are non-smoking…so that’s a big plus for you.
