Travel Under Budget In Chicago With These Tips:

Where to stay in Chicago 2021 [5 best AREAS for every budget]

Determining where to stay in Chicago on a budget requires a great deal of research. Keep in mind that the room rates arent the only fees you might incur during your trip. Use these tips to save money and enjoy your Chicago vacation:

Parking is NOT CheapIf you plan to use a car while in Chicago, make sure you know the parking situation at your downtown hotel. The majority of hotels in Chicago only offer valet parking. Multiply the number of days you plan to stay at the hotel by the daily valet parking fee and try not to gasp at the final price.

To avoid these lofty fees, use a taxi, Uber or Lyft, or Chicagos public transportation to travel around the city.

Does Location Matter? For many travelers, lodging in downtown Chicago is worth the potentially high room rate. With the hotels listed above, you are within walking distance to all major city attractions, restaurants, museums, and more. This helps you avoid transportation and fees and stay within budget. If you want to lower the cost of lodging as much as possible, look for hotels outside of city limits.

Do Your ResearchUnless you are traveling to Chicago for a specific event, try to have flexible travel dates. Hotel room rates are based on seasonality, market fluctuations, and other factors. Do your research, find out when room rates are at their lowest, and book your Chicago vacation. Also, keep an eye out for discounts and promotions from the downtown Chicago hotels!

Best Location To Stay In Chicago For Weekend Trip

Top 10 Hotels In Chicago | Hotels Chicago | Best Boutique Hotel | Luxurious Hotels | Advotis4u

I am coming to Chicago next week from Friday to Sunday, and am wondering what the best location for me to stay would be.

Basically, I am looking to see the city, but don’t really have all that much in mind, just yet. The ideal place would give me a “feel” for the city and its history and be close to the most important tourist attractions.

What specific area would you recommend?

Thanks,

A hotel in the Mag Mile or River North area is best from a visitor’s perspective. Good transit and dining options.

There are many hotels to choose from. You can read reviews in the Chicago Hotels section of TA. Play with your dates at www.hotels.com or similar site and see what shows up within your budget.

Thanks for the reply!

Which would you recommend more Mag Mile or River North. What is the main difference in your mind?

I’ll be doing airbnb.com so I can pretty much stay whereever I want!

All the best,

Downtown is fairly compact and easy to get around. The areas are next to each other. River North has a bit more residential/commercial mix of properties.

Take a look at this map –

Magnificent Mile is the nickname for Michigan Ave in River North. “Mag Mile” is a street in the River North neighborhood.

You’ll want to be near a convenient bus or train line, so don’t get too far out into the neighborhoods unless public transportation is available.

  • The Langham: In Chicago, there are many places that resemble the staff and quarters found in the show Downton Abbey, but none more so than The Langhammight be because the hotel is London based. There are butlers on the premises and the service is stiff to the point of unnerving, but it is what makes this the very best 5-star hotel in Chicago. The rooms at The Langham are huge at 500-2,700 square feet, which is bigger than my house, so sneak in your friends and make a night of itwe did! The building was designed by pioneering architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and you will see the depths of his creation once inside the steel and glass skyscraper. The artistry continues on The Langhams walls with fine art galore, and the Travelle Bar and Lounge is about as romantic as it gets. Even though it is just on the second floor, it still has a magical view of the city.
