Places To Stay In Ischia

Spend The Day At Centro Termale Ovagnitiello

WHAT TO DO IN ISCHIA, ITALY // Best things to do on Ischia Island

Centro Termale OVagnitiello is a great option if you are looking to enjoy Ischias thermal heated waters. It is literally right on top of the sea and has great facilities. The photo here does not do it justice in any way which is why you should visit their website. You can also stay there as it is a hotel which I definitely recommend check out booking.

Dinner At Ristorante Laltra Mezzanotte

The Port of Ischia is a cool port surrounded by shops and restaurants which makes it perfect for an evening stroll, dinner, and drinks! The via Porto is a pedestrian way lined with outdoor seating and we highly recommend Ristorante LAltra Mezzanotte. As is the theme of any good island, stick with seafood!

There are many hotels in Forio, it is a very popular area. Try to book in advance to find the best accommodations!

If you’re looking for somewhere truly special, consider the Mezzatorre Resort & Spa, a beautiful 5-star hotel with nautical-inspired antique furnishings and direct access to the beach. In addition to a spa, gym, restaurant and pools, there’s also a tennis court and game room. Elegant and secluded.

Hotel Nettuno De Charme: one of the best options, if not the best option near the Poseidon Gardens. All rooms are equipped with amenities, some of them have sea view.

laHotelAlbatros It is a reasonably priced 4 star hotel with a fantastic pool and is in a good location near the beach. The view of the sea is exceptional. In the surrounding area you will find excellent restaurants.

laHotelTritone Resort & SPA is a great beach resort in a beautiful island setting. You are close to some unique areas with rock formations, a variety of beaches and if you love hiking, this is the place for you!

San Michele Hotel & Spa

The 4-star Poggio Aragosta is a hotel worth checking-in to. This amazing property is located a 5-minute drive from the north coast of the island and a 16-minute walk from the beach. But if moving around isnât your fancy, youâll also enjoy staying at the 2 outdoor pools, the well-equipped spa, the Kneipp Therapy Center, or the Turkish bath of the hotel. You have so many choices here. Rooms feature an incredible range of services for a most pleasant and comfortable stay. At the hotels 2 restaurants, youâll also appreciate eating like an Italian king, enjoying sweet and savory dishes, and regional and national cuisine on the terrace.

Spend The Day At Spiaggia Dei Pescatori

Vogue.fr on Twitter in 2020

Beaches in Italy, and most of Europe, are done a bit differently than in the states. Many Italian beaches are occupied by beach clubs where you rent a bed and you can also eat lunch there. Spiaggia dei Pescatori is no different. Find a beach club with a nice view and enjoy the day on one of Ischias most popular beaches!

Spiaggia Di Cava Grado

Ischia is all about its coves and rock features. Spiaggia di Cava Grado is a nice little beach but if you follow the rocky coastline from the water youll find some amazing coves and water. Find a kayak or bring a float and youll have yourself a great afternoon. Youll be right near Ristorante Deus Neptunus Ischia, our next bucket-list item, which is an incredible lunch or dinner choice.

The Best Hotels In Ischia Ponte

Hotel Miramare Y Castello: one of the most famous 5 * in Ischia, especially for the panoramic view of the Aragonese Castle and the bay of Sorrento. It offers elegant rooms, solarium with 2 hot tubs, spa and a la carte restaurant. Probably the best accommodation in the town of Ischia, if not on the whole island.

Hotel Villa Durrueli Resort & Spa: a quiet spa hotel, five minutes walk from the beach. The hotel offers, in addition to the rest, an outdoor pool, a spa with whirlpool and steam bath, and free breakfast.

If you are looking for a cheap accommodation, I suggest you take a look at Hotel europa, a family-run hotel with thermal pool located in the historic center of Ischia, just 200 meters from the beach.

Will You Be Eating Out Or Cooking For Yourself

If youre looking for self-catering in Ischia, choosing your location carefully is a must, especially if you wont have a car. We stayed in a hotel between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte and if wed been self-catering we would have struggled to buy food for our meals. There are some small food shops but they dont have much of a range. Forio could be a better location instead, as there are supermarkets and a market for fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish.

If you do have your own transport, then youll find a number of large supermarkets across the island. The produce in Ischia is outstanding so try to choose local products if you can the local wines are fantastic as well.

Restaurants And Shops In Ischia Porto

Ischia Italy: 10 Best Things To Do in Ischia Island

Ischia Porto has a range of restaurants around the right hand side of the harbour, and some nice bars overlooking the water.

Ischia Porto also probably has the best range of shopping on the island, along the northern part of Corso Vittorio Colonna. Youll find a greengrocer, small supermarkets and cheese shops, along with clothes shops, shoe shops, stores selling beauty products , galleries and souvenir shops. There are several banks and pharmacists in this part of Ischia I particularly recommend Pharmacia del Porto.

Lunch Or Dinner At O Sole Mio

There are very few truly authentic restaurants left out there which is what makes O Sole Mio so special. Everyone these days is trying to run a business, I cant blame them, and Francesco del Neso is just trying to fill stomachs and make people happy.

O Sole Mio is technically an agriturismo which has a no frils but high quality restaurant. Simple dishes made with locally farmed ingredients by none other than Francesco himself. Youll sit on a homemade wooden bench and eat off plastic tables, but youll eat well.

For me, one of the most important things when traveling is to get in touch with your destination. O Sole Mio may be your best opportunity to do exactly that!

The Ten Best Hotels On Ischia

30 Most Beautiful Islands in the World

Our roundup of the top 10 hotels on Ischia

There is a wide range of accommodations on Ischia, home to almost 400 hotels, B& Bs, rooms, and vacation rentals. The quality of the island’s hospitality, however, can be somewhat underwhelming, with dated design, limited amenities, and disappointing breakfast. With countless websites listing the island’s hotels, inns, and holiday rentals, it’s hard to wade through the chaff to find the few that offer rather than furnishings that date from decade ago! We’ve done the work for you, sifting through dozens of possibilities to choose the best mid-priced hotels on Ischia that offer contemporary style and modern amenities. The luxury 5-star hotels have been left off the list, as they all offer high-end services, so we concentrated instead on the mid-level three- and four-star hotels, where there is a ample choice but few that really wow. Rates for these hotels on Ischia fall between 100 and 200 a night, and breakfast is often included.

Please note: when booking a hotel on Ischia, we suggest choosing your room category with care as often the most affordable are on the ground or garden floor and can be dark and dank. Pay close attention to the photos of each room category, and try to book far in advance for the most choice.

Trekking At The Mount Epomeo

The view from the top of Mount Epomeo is one of the best in Italy. There are various paths you can take to get to the top, but I recommend the walk from Serrara Fontana that leads up to the peak. Along the way, there are also a couple of restaurants where to stop.

If you are an early riser, go there to see the sunrise. In a day with good visibility, you will see the entire Gulf of Naples with the islands of Capri, Procida, Vivara and the whole coast of Sorrento.

Thermal Baths Into The Sea At Sorgeto Bay

Sorgeto Bay is a stone beach where the thermal water flows into the sea, allowing you to see the thermal baths turn into natural pools created by mother nature.

Here it is also possible to take a swim in January because the water is always hot.

Be careful because in some places the water is boiling! Moreover, avoid going there in August because it is often very crowded and loses all its charm.

You can get there by sea from SantAngelo or by taxi and take the steps .
