Liked As Close To Maligne Canyon And Lake

Liked as close to maligne canyon and lake. Lake Edith cavell walk to lake. Not as many crowds as the lake Louise Banff area. Locals friendly. Disliked restaurants. Would suggest people eat at fast food restaurants or Byo as other restaurants expensive and underdeliver.

It was an over all good experience. Staff was great and allowed us to check in early because our baby needed a nap and we were due to be at a wedding that evening. Very clean and a good value for staying In jasper. Had to laugh at our mountain view a little bit as it was more of a back ally view of local homes but Im not going to complain! Nice toiletries were included and bathrooms were very clean and updated!

Luxury And Higher End Places To Stay In Jasper

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is one of the best hotels in Jasper National Park.

This is one of my favorite Fairmont mountain properties. Its nestled deep in the woods, and all the rooms are cabin-style!

This place is awesome because you get the rustic alpine style vibe with all the luxurious service and offerings of a Fairmont property. And you will often wake up to deer and elk quietly roaming around the property.

All rooms come with awesome ground level patios with comfy lounge chairs.

Tip: try to get a room overlooking the waterstunning! And the outdoor hot tub and heated pool provide some pretty majestic views.

The JPL is not within walking distance to town, but its just over a 5 minute drive. If you dont have a vehicle there are shuttles or taxis that will take you there very easily.

A very comparable high end property is the Pyramid Lake Resort.

Here you can go canoeing, fishing and hiking right out your front door. In the summer you can enjoy a private beach for guests only, and in the winter its the perfect place for ice skating on a frozen lake surrounded by mountains.

Its the perfect place to unwind, disconnect, grab a seat on a cozy chair outside and watch the wildlife pass by!

Staying outside of the main strip in Jasper will be a more rustic experience. Youll pretty quickly find yourself in the woods as you drive outside of Jasper in basically any direction.

Why Stay Outside of Downtown Jasper?

While Downtown Jasper is not exactly bustling, a lot of people look to stay further away for a quieter vacation. The Jasper accommodations below are where to stay in Jasper if you want to see wildlife from the balcony of your room. They often have hotel nature walks and nearby hiking trails for you to be able to explore when you dont feel like driving.

You will have a mix of different options available to you. There are hotels that are still walking distance or a short drive from Downtown Jasper that have a peaceful, serene wilderness lodge feel to them. Other options are in the middle of the mountains, almost an hour away from the town and offer a real secluded escape.

When deciding where to stay, it is important to take into account the distance from the town. Will it be inconvenient to drive 45 mins to town for dinner? If you want to browse the shops or pick up some groceries for a picnic, is it a hassle to have to jump in the car?

Even though Jasper is a small town, with a land area of only 924.06 square kilometers and a population of 5,200, every area in the place exudes a completely different atmosphere. Hence, it is important to consider what exactly youre looking for during your stay.

If you wish to experience the vibrant nightlife of the community, staying in downtown Jasper is the best choice for you. If you seek quieter surroundings but within the vicinity of town facilities, you may book a hotel outside of town but still within the boundaries of Jasper National Park.

We Absolutely Loved Our Trip To Jasper And If Time Had

The 15 BEST Things to Do in Jasper (2021 Epic Guide ...

We absolutely loved our trip to Jasper and if time had permitted we would have stayed much longer. Pyramid Lake Resort was the perfect spot for us to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to got to town. We booked the Nature Ride and would highly recommend it as the driver was so pleasant and informative and we found King Elk and Big Horn sheep but sadly the bears were hiding from the rain. We also booked the cruise to Spirit Island and what a wonderful time that was. Worth every penny. Dining at the Pyramid Lake Resort we had the Bison for dinner, yummy and for breakfast absolutely must have the Eggs Bennie. Many memories to carry with us from this stay in Jasper and many more to come.

Top Jasper Motel Choice: Tonquin Inn

When Im not looking to spend a lot of money on my Jasper getaway, a solid and reliable choice is always the Tonquin Inn.

Its motel style meaning all the rooms are accessed from outside. This basic lodge is also becoming dated, but its clean and inexpensive.

If youre only in town for a night or two, I wouldnt hesitate staying here. They do have a nice indoor hot tub and two pretty good outdoor hot tubs as well!

Tip: If youre on the 2nd or 3rd floor youll need to carry your luggage upstairs, so if mobility is a concern, you will want to make sure you get a main floor room.

$$$ Mica Mountain Lodge & Log Cabins

The last hotel option on my list of hotels near Jasper is Mica Mountain Lodge & Log Cabins, where private cottages with mountain views, a private bathroom, and a kitchen are available for rent. Guests staying here can make use of an on-site fire pit and a picnic area.

Mica Mountain Lodge & Log Cabins is a perfect choice for those interested in visiting Mount Robson, which lies 8.1 miles away. It is also ideal for people wanting to visit Valemount, which is only 15 minutes away by car and full of restaurants and shops. Youll be about an hour and fifteen-minute drive away from Jasper when staying at this property, but let me tell you, it is a really beautiful drive!

You can also easily visit Fraser River, known for its waterfalls and salmon fishing, from the lodge. Other than that, summer and winter tours can all be arranged on-site.

Where To Stay In Jasper: The Best Places To Stay In Jasper

Jasper is a gem in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, but gets far less fanfare than its nearby cousin, Banff. Its much smaller and less developed than Banff, and all you have to do to get out into nature and feel wild is drive a few minutes outside of the downtown area. Because it is much quieter, it is also great for wildlife viewing.

Jasper National Park has over 53 mammal species living in it, including wolves, moose, elk, cougars, and grizzly bears. We loved Jasper because of the abundance of natural beauty and the incredible hiking trails we found just outside of town.

You HAVE to make it out to Maligne Lake at sunrise if you can swing it we even saw a pair of moose along the lake as the sun rose!

There are a couple of things to consider when youre thinking about where to stay in Jasper, and it will essentially depend on how much driving you are willing to do, and whether you want to be surrounded by nature, or in the downtown area where youre surrounded by all sorts of restaurants and bars, among other things.

Staying outside of Downtown Jasper means you have the serenity of a mountain or lakeside retreat, but you will need to drive into Downtown Jasper if you want to try a restaurant or head to a bar.

Whatever your style and budget is, youll find something that fits in Jasper.

This guide to where to stay in Jasper National Park will help you find the perfect place to stay, depending on the type of vacation youre looking for.
