Kitty Ss Bar And Restaurant
This is your perfect spot when in Kinsale to seek out if in pursuit of some typical Irish vibes. Located on Pearse Street in the heart of the town, this local pub is quaint and charming with a small façade of black with Celtic font.
Expect lots of live music here while you brush shoulders with locals over pints of The Black Stuff en route to the bar. The food in Kitty Ó Sés is fantastic too arguably the best in town so be sure to get your hands on a plate of fish and chips or a big bowl of fresh seafood chowder.

Would You Stay In Cobh Cork Or Kinsale
We would like to see the local sights and stay over at least two or three nights before continuing on our way. We are looking at Cobh, Kinsale or Cork for a few nights before heading to Killarney and then on to Galway. Would prefer a stay close to the sights but a smaller town would be nicer if there were some pubs and things to see. Anything you would suggest? ,Another town or one of these and why.
Thanks,
Will you have a car? If not, then take Kinsale off your base camp list as it’s not easy to get to/from by public transport.
Cork is a small city in European terms with loads of accommodation options to suit all pockets. Loads of cafes, restaurants and fantastic pubs. A great vibe and has good bus and train transport links to other places such as Killarney
Cork city, unlike Dublin does not have a large number of visitor attractions but the main ones are: St Finbarres Cathedral, Cork City Gaol, UCC Campus walking tour, Shandon Bells, Glucksman Gallery, Crawford Art Gallery, HOHO bus, but it has easy access to Blarney Castle, Jameson Distillery and the harbour town of Cobh. It also has a bus service to Kinsale, which is not as frequent, and takes just under one hour.
Cobh is a small harbour town 14 miles east of Cork City. You can get there by train or by bus. Journey time 25 minutes.
If you have a car and you like the small town vibe, choose Kinsale
If you don’t have a car and you like the small town vibe choose Cobh
