Lockport Is A Very Nice Area To Visit
Lockport is a very nice area to visit. They have some great restaurants and I love going to the Transit Drive-In theater! Worth a trip for that alone! They also have the historic Erie Canal locks. Grab home made ice cream at Lake Effect Ice Cream and just stroll or sit by the locks. They have put a lot of effort into beautifying the area and it is welcoming. Toms Diner on Main Street is reminiscent of a 50’s style diner with great food and prices. If you like BBQ check out One Eyed Jacks! I loved their pulled pork and Brunswick Stew! Yum! Great Italian food at The Village Eatery that has generous portions, great sauce and good prices. Reid’s Is also a good place to get a hot dog, fries and shakes really inexpensive. I asked for a side of their hot dog sauce to my fries on too! Anderson’s also has many food selections, ice cream and tables inside and out with a playground to keep kids busy while you enjoy your treats. I didn’t get a chance to do the boat ride on the Erie Canal that goes through the locks but plan to my next visit! The area surrounding also has some nice wineries and antique shops plus it is close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo without the crowds. Did you know the first fire hydrants were made in Lockport? I learned that on a tour of the Canal! I think it’s definitely a nice place to visit!

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Lockport, NY while attending a funeral in the area. The front desk staff was helpful, efficient, and made us feel welcome. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable. I would have rated the hotel excellent but for a few minor glitches in that the tissue dispenser and the shower wash dispenser were empty, although these issues were quickly resolved by the exceptional front desk staff. If I ever stay at a Best Western Plus hotel again, I would bring my own shampoo and conditioner since the provided amenities were of poorer quality. Also, as senior citizens, we found the entrance to the hotel very difficult to find and navigate at night.The best part of our stay was the amazing breakfast. Although the hotel states that it has a continental breakfast, it is much more than that. There is a warm breakfast with some of the best food I have ever had at a free hotel breakfast. You have to try the pancake maker. Pancakes are made individually with your choice of syrup, whipped cream, blueberries as toppings. They are amazing. Yum, Yum, Yum. There were also omelets, sausage, potatoes as well as the usual pastries, toaster items, cereal, juice, yogurt, etc. We would stay at the Best Western Plus again just for the breakfast!More

I have stayed here on several occasions and it is not only the best place to stay in town, but also the best bang for the buck. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. They also provide quality linens and bedding, real glasses and coffee cups in the room along with a microwave and refrigerator. This is a family run place where 3 generations are working to make your stay comfortable. The property is well maintained with a beautiful pool and well kept grounds. I have stayed by myself in one of the smaller rooms when visiting my Dad in a local nursing home. Last visit, the owner gave me a tour of the beautiful suites – simply amazing. If you have to stay in Lockport, this is the place. Only drawback is that they are not pet friendly, which makes me leave my little dog at home. Seems they had problems years back when the dog and cat shows came to town. I am hoping that they reconsider and at least devote a few rooms to those traveling with a dog.More

No water pressure in the shower, room not cleaned very well at all. Told the staff and there was no change at all. We did not think we should have to bring issues to their attention more than once. Had too many new staff members that did not know how to answer questions or handle issues with no one on site to help them out.
