The bed and accommodations was great, however the room had a huge string odor, and we couldnt sleep but had to sit up with door open , no maintenance available and office was closed finally my husband to the badly burnt smelling microwave out the room himself and took it to the office after front desk unlocked door to lobby, we both have asthma and I became ill, horrible service, Ive stayed at this hotel for years and loved it , however this experience has changed my mind forever

Wifi, fridge and microwave in the room was great. Location was outstanding! Overall cleanliness did not meet my expectations at all…bed had a funky smell, it was rather “run down”, things were “sticky” to the touch, and as a female solo traveler, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was cost efficient though.

The Roanoke Canal powered the development of Roanoke Rapids. Constructed in 1823 to establish a trade route between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, the impressive example of primitive engineering still stands.
The Roanoke Canal Museum and Trail, located in the 1850s power plant, explains how the canal went from transporting ships and powering local mills and mill villages to obsolete. Stop in to learn about the history of the canal and then follow the 7.5-mile Roanoke Canal Trail that runs alongside the canalbed to see architectural features like the original aqueduct and the stone bridge.

Do Not Stay At Baymont By Wyndham Due To Their Roach
Do not stay at Baymont by Wyndham due to their roach infestation. They are irresponsible and they never accept responsibility or return your calls. I am still waiting for a refund and they bounce you from person to person. The place is a dump. $70 a night is terrible for being woken up by roaches in your bed. They have an infestation problem and admit they are trying to do their best but dont tell you before you check in only after its too late. Now I have to worry about bringing them in my luggage or vehicle. Disgraceful.

An easy, comfortable and inexpensive place to stop if one is traveling I-95 through N.C.. The room was modern and clean, the bed was comfortable, the lighting in the room was much better than most chain motels, and the room had a large flat screen TV as well as a refrigerator and microwave. Several restaurants are conveniently located at this I-95 interchange and close to this motel.

We were caught in a storm and needed a room for the trip back to nj from FL. It is clean and would stay again if I had too.
