About a 5 minute drive from Cedar Point. At check-in, the front desk staff was extremely nice and offered us water. She told use about breakfast and anything else we needed to know. Hassle free, and cleanly room. Breakfast was great, lots of options Cedar Point was right down the street, easy to get to

I have stayed in Sandusky about 5 times, and I wish I knew about South Shore Inn before. Rooms are nice and very well kept and clean. The front desk service is the best and friendliest I have ever seen. They accommodated us above and beyond they had to. I highly recommend South Shore Inn for being the best place to stay for the best price.

Need more senior friendly areas with shade and benches……..and we are 68+70…. And a bit overweight so we couldn’t ride most rides together. We rode the ferris wheel..train..and the iron dragon….not into roller coasters up and down……we like the hymilaya and the low rides but we can’t fit together…guess we’ll have to go on a diet….lol

Where To Stay Near Cedar Point
My husband and I are going to Cedar Point in May or June 2013.
For lodging, is it worth it to stay at a Cedar Point property? If not, do you have any suggestions for the best places to stay?
Also, does anyone know if the non Cedar Point properties offer shuttle services to the park?

If you are on a budget, no it is not “worth it” to stay on site. If money is not an issue, yes, it very much is “worth it”.
I have never visited cp and not stayed at hotel breakers. Then again I like to chill on the beach for a day and love the convenience of having a room to go back to on site. Plus you have the early admission
Search or read through this forum for many threads on this topic. One advantage of staying at a CP property is early admission to the park. Some persons would prefer cheaper offsite lodging and then to buy a fast pass to allow preferential boarding on rides with long lines.

I know of no shuttle services to the park from non-CP properties. So, factor in the cost of parking and/or the benefit of having a room to return to mid-day. I’ve never stayed at the on-site properties but I’m beginning to think it is worth it, especially for the beach access from the hotel.
About 15 years ago, we would stay at The Maples Motel, which was good rate, quiet, clean, no frills old-style roadside motel. But I mean no frills! 🙂

Wasnt Happy That All The Rides Didnt Run
Wasnt happy that all the rides didnt run! For two days the same rides didnt run at all but they did test runs!! Cedar points just kept telling people it was maintenance being done. So my children was not happy because they came to ride those rides. We spent all that money to come and not all rides are running and cedar point dont offer some kind of deal when things like this happen and this is the only vacation for the year.

If Weather Is Nice It’s Worth It To Splurge On The Fast
If weather is nice it’s worth it to splurge on the “Fast pass”. We waited for 40 min for our first ride and decided to get the fast pass. Waited 5 min the second time! Made our experience much more enjoyable, more riding than waiting! The “ALL DAY DINING” is a waste of money. It was so limited as to where and what could be purchased that I’d rather have just paid for what I wanted, when I wanted it. However, the drink pass is definitely worth it.Steel Vengence, Valravn, and Top Thrill are the 3 best coasters I’ve ever been on. I could have just gone on those three all day. Millennium Force was a huge let down considering all the awards it’s won.
