Sanibel gives you a great base for exploring, and has enough amenities to mean you wont have to travel far if you dont want to. Plus its a super safe destination, so you can happily relax at ease.

Naples Or Sanibel Island Or Wherever
Husband and myself have a flight to Fort Myers with 2 boys in their 20’s for a short 2 day vacation Sept. 29 and 30. Need recommendations for where to stay – boys haven’t been to the ocean before and want to just enjoy the beach experience but I know they would love to parasail.
I think Naples or Sanibel will be too sedate for the boys. Ft. Myers Beach should provide everything you need for two days. Check messages in the Ft. Myers Beach forum for a place to stay.
The Captiva is a good choice. Sanibel and Captiva are very quiet, but YOLO Watersports in Captiva Village offers parasailing and wave runner tours and rentals. For a 2 night stay on the island you will be kind of limited. Tween Waters Inn or maybe Jensen’s. For a splurge stay Gulfside or for a nice simple clean unit try one of their little cottages bayside. It’s about a 5 minute walk from beach to bay. You can stay on Sanibel if you prefer as there are more places to choose from and then just drive up to Captiva. Though Captiva is smaller, the motorized watersports are all up there.
