Rest Of The Beaches Area
Just to the east of West Beach is East Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in the city and this is down to the striking white sand that sits in front of the Caribbean look-a-like palm trees that wouldnt be out of place on a postcard. East Beach has a good amount of hotels, shops, restaurants and pubs to choose from as well as hiring water sports equipment like surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, parasailing and much more.
If you want beaches that are less crowded then head to Leadbetter Beach or Hendrys Beach, which are close by to the main town beaches but offer a little more escapism. Both have a good amount of shops, dining places and bars though not as wide a variety as those found by West and East Beach. All of the beaches are generally clean with good swimming and surfing to be had and are safe with good public transport connections to all parts of Santa Barbara and therefore are good places to stay in.
Other Great Places To Stay Around Santa Barbara
These two places dont fit into any of the four areas above that I wanted to make sure to include. Both are in nearby Goleta, which is about 10-15 minutes away from downtown. Youll probably want a car, so if you dont plan on renting one, you should plan to stay closer in.
Breathtaking Couples Getaway in SB w/ Fireplace
This cute one-bedroom apartment has everything you need for a stay in Santa Barbara. It has air conditioning for the summer, two fireplaces for the winter, and board games. It is a 10 minute drive from Downtown Santa Barbara and has space in the driveway for parking as well as plenty of street parking.
Goodland by Kimpton
The Goodland by Kimpton is located just outside of Santa Barbara, in nearby Goleta, but it is only 10 miles away from bustling downtown Santa Barbara. It is a quirky hotel with a vintage theme, decorated with memorabilia and collectables. There is even a vintage record store onsite. Each of the rooms have a record player and a selection of LPs handpicked by the hotel owner. The hotel runs yoga classes and runs fun events such as trivia nights for guests.
Whether you are there for a weekend, or a week-long beach vacation, Santa Barbara will probably capture your heart. There are so many things to see and do, and so many beaches to relax on. My advice is to give in to the relaxed lifestyle, try all the foods you have room for, and soak up the beautiful California sunshine.

Film History And Modern Fun In Santa Barbara
Ranked by trivago as a âPopular Choice hotel, the Montecito Inn is a small classic property, one with almost a century of history along with plenty of modern charms.
Charlie Chaplin developed the hotel in 1928 as an escape of sorts from Los Angeles . At one end of the popular Coast Village Road, lined with shopping and restaurants, the Inn is within walking distance of so many of the charms of the small Santa Barbara-adjacent town, and only a half-mile away from the beach.
Despite its age, the Inn itself is a modern property, both in its public places and private rooms. There is complementary Wi-Fi throughout, a workout room with treadmills and elliptical machines, and in-room spa services. The hotels restaurant, Sushi|Bar, is helmed by Phillip Frankland Lee, a competitor on the popular cooking show âTop Chef, and it gets some of the best reviews in the city for its titular cuisine.

Lovely, modern and family friendly Inn – very close to the Beach and Downtown
Reviewed By Essegaernsche
We have had a lovely stay at the Avania Inn, rooms are very spacious, quiet and lovely renovated. We had no problems with parking. The Inn itself is perfectly located very close to the beach and not too far from downtown. The 7eleven next to it is a plus if one needs water etc. We did not need our car once. We stayed for two nights with our 9 month old daughter and even got offered a baby crib without even asking. Breakfast really is more than we could have asked for: the room itself is very pleasant, besides other goodies it includes plenty of fruit and berries, waffles, danish and scones, porridge, a variety of breads as well as sausage, eggs and salsa.Staff was always really friendly and helpful – especially Samantha was so lovely and caring and made sure we had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much, we would always stay here again!
