One of the best known resorts in St. John, the Westin St John Resort is located just south of Cruz bay and occupies 400 yards of private white sand beach. An all-villa property, this St John resort is well suited for couples, families, or groups of friends, and is one of the best luxury hotels in St John US Virgin Islands.
Rooms are all villa-style here and include self-catering facilities with either a full kitchen or mini-kitchenette, making this a good option if you dont want to eat out all the time. Rooms range from Studios up to 3 bedroom Villas. There are 3 different room styles: Villas, Townhouses and Lofts and almost all feature private balconies. The Lofts have a more contemporary feel.
On site the Westin has plenty of facilities, including a pool, full-service spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, kids club and bar and restaurant. Theres also a café/deli for cofees and quick bites.

What’s Special About St John
As part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. John is unique in its American style, ecologically friendly attitude, and its miles of scenic national park land. This is the smallest of the three main islands that comprise the USVI, and about 2/3 of it is protected park land, with miles of hiking trails among the trees, cacti, and other tropical plants. St. John is definitely less developed than the other islands, so if what you want is peace, quiet, and tons of natural beauty, then this is the place to be.
As mentioned, hiking is a favorite activity on the island, and there are lots of paths and trails to enjoy, or you can just take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the view. St. John also has something that the other Caribbean islands dont – snuba. A combination of snorkeling and scuba diving, snuba is a fun way to check out the underwater sights the island has to offer.
St. John is definitely all about enjoying the outdoors, but that is not to say that visitors wont be able to partake in some excellent shopping, dining, and nightlife while on the island. Cruz Bay is a fun place to be day or night, and there are numerous shops on the island featuring jewelry, clothes, and other souvenirs to help you remember your tropical beach vacation. Restaurants serving up delicious Caribbean fare are plentiful, and the bars are open late to keep your party lasting well into the night.

Known as the crown jewel of the US Virgin Islands, in this article I will be sharing our favorite St John US Virgin Islands hotels as well as Villas and Airbnbs, so you know where all the best places to stay on St John USVI are.
St Johns is also the smallest of the US Virgin Islands, and thats part of the charm. Accessible only by ferry from St Thomas, the US Virgin Islands national park occupies over half of the island, making this a great choice for nature lovers. St John is home to dolphins, hawksbill and green turtles, and of course amazing snorkeling, plus lush interiors.
Ferries from St Thomas come into and out of Cruz bay, which is the main town on the west of the island, and a good starting point for looking for hotels on St John. Resorts in St. John are for the most part located on the west of the Island around Cruz bay. Due to national park restrictions, theres little development in the centre of the island. You also wont find any all inclusive resorts on St Johns.

Top 5 Places To Stay In St Thomas
St Thomas is quite a small island, but shouldnt be missed if youre traveling the USA. The different neighborhoods across the island offer a diverse array of attractions, so theres something for every traveler. Transport between most regions is fairly frequent, though there are some limitations when heading to the East End.
For the purpose of this guide, weve divided Charlotte Amalie into different neighborhoods. Downtown Charlotte Amalie is likely the first place you will visit when you arrive. For first time guests, there is a wealth of attractions on offer. Its also a popular shopping destination, especially for jewelry.
Heading slightly west, Frenchtown has an entirely different atmosphere. The nightlife here is among the more upmarket options on the island, and the restaurants offer classy vibes and decadent cuisine. For this reason, it makes a great destination for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
Charlotte Amalie West is the neighborhood located right next to the airport. The university is also nearby, so you will find plenty of budget-friendly restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. St Thomas, like most of the Caribbean, can get quite expensive but those looking to save a pretty penny can find some hidden gems in the west of the city.

Magens Bay Best Area On St Thomas For Families
On the north side of the island, Magens Bay is the most famous beach in St Thomas. Despite this fame, it still maintains a calm atmosphere compared to the capital. For this reason, we reckon it is a great choice for families.
It might have a calm atmosphere, but that doesnt mean there isnt plenty to do. The beach itself is just the beginning, there are some excellent hikes nearby. The restaurants in the area are a little more understated than those in the capital, giving you a calm and peaceful atmosphere by the sea.
Vibrant Hotel On St Thomas Sapphire Beach Resort
This gorgeous hotel is among the most luxurious on the island! It comes with a private expanse of white sand beach letting you enjoy the crystal clear sea without having to worry about other tourists. It also comes with an outdoor swimming pool and sunbathing area. There isnt much to do within walking distance, but there are regular shuttles to Red Hook and the on-site restaurant is excellent.

This Is Where We Stayed The Christy Ann Villa
The house was near Rendezvous Point and overlooked Fish Bay.
It had very high ceilings
and amazing views out every window. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pots, pans, tupperware, everything you could need, which was great.
It also had a huge deck with a hot tub.
We started and finished every day relaxing on the deck.
I was so sad to leave.
There is only one resort on the island, the Westin. We went there one day to use their gym and seriously, everyone staying there looked really grumpy. I looked at it when planning the trip, but the rooms looked tiny and crazy overpriced. And there is so much to see the island and better beaches than Westins private beach that I dont think its really worth staying at the resort. And the island is so small that you arent really getting an extra convenient location by staying at the Westin. You can get more for your money in a privately owned house.
When youre looking at areas to stay in, look for these: Chocolate Hole, Rendezvous Point, Fish Bay, Hart Baybasically anything along the southwest side of the island. These are where most of the privately owned houses are. I wouldnt stay in Great Cruz Bay crowded and probably loud. And I wouldnt stay in Coral Bay unless you really wanted to be remote.
